Sadly only by what I've read on the DF forums. My forts don't last more than a few seasons, at least until I get a new machine.
I think an atom-smasher is the best bet for a consistent defense or a Demi-god military. and if falling blocks of obsidian smashes clowns then that would be a very dwarvey solution.

If your obsidian creation is perpetual, is it blocking the route that the clowns are taking into your area?

Dumb dwarves poked into the side of the clown college. Luckily, I'm was not dumb and was mining via a separate bore-hole. Clowns are coming in piece meal. Clowns are good at bolt dodging but you can easily take them down 2 at a time with bolts and crossbow bludgeoning.

Uh OH, are we plotting a DF SG?

Also, I've been doing mostly SC2, HoN/LoL, Killing Floor when I have time. Doing some runs in FFH2 as well, but beating down AIs isn't as rewarding as playing realtime with my friends imo.

I'm currently having a lot of Fun learning Dwarf Fortress. wink

I don't think my current skill level is up to playing in a SG but I would happily lurk such an endevour. smile

The great thing bat DF SGs is that they seem to have the opposite effect as CIV SGs. Where in a CIV SG the team plays better as a whole than the individual players, DF SGs seem to lay worse. Which means more Fun.
