Hi,
I would love to play, if you will have me. I'm also a Monarch player with no MP experience, and a long time lurker here at Realms Beyond. scooter's post convinced me now is a good time to come out and play, hopefully it won't be a total failure
Cheers
Yuri

Yuris, I think you'd be a fine fit if you'd like to play along, five seems like a fine number for a PBEM. Thus far it'd be:
Commodore
Mr. Nice Guy
Ichabod
Ranamar (with Lew dedlurking/agitating for blood)
Yuris
Which I'd be fine for. NTT would still be my preference for this one, although Krill's idea would be cool for some game.

I prefer NTT, but I dislike CTON.

Sounds good
Are we doing any kind of variant or leader/civ restrictions?
You can get a look at a t-bone by looking up the bulls ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

I recommend India and Inca ban for civs as they always get picked first when they are available in the snake pick. India seems to win a majority of games on here mostly because good players, who know how best leverage Fast Workers, pick India. So it may not be a function of India's UU but more a function that the best players recognize its value and try to grab it first. Thus leading to many skilled players using India and winning. Still... I'd pick one of of those civs given the chance.
For leader choices it may be good to just ban FIN and EXP traits. But there's lots of possibilities. A good possibility is you can only pick a leader with one of these traits: FIN/EXP/CRE/PHI and the second trait has to be one of the other traits.

I could go with picks made by the map-maker/lurkers. I think is more interesting than picking always the same. But if you guys prefer to do a snake pick, I'm ok with it too.

EDIT: Ranamar, you need some killer instinct?
Though I'll dedlurk anyone who wants it. Wouldn't mind taking a look up the bull's ass if you want me MNG.
Alright, sure, let's do it. Any more discussion should be over PM (or IM) so I don't expose all my faults to the public, of course. :neenernee
Well, assuming we don't end up with more interest than space, but that doesn't quite seem like it's happening.
(also... what's MNG stand for?)
EDIT: Oh, what's a good image hosting site that doesn't have Flickr's 100MB cap nor Dropbox's security vulnerabilities?

Awesome, it's good to see. I'm with Lew on India and Inca being banned, in fact I'd be up for banning several more of the most common Civs, like HRE, Byz, Maya, Egypt, maybe Summer? Fin and Exp being banned would be my preference, beyond that I'm fine with either snake-pick or lurker votes.
Speaking of maps, the base snakey-landmass idea sound good to folks? I've been a fan of plako as a mapmaker for his not-quite-balanced-but-interesting landforms.

Some people here dislike it, but I don't know why. Been working perfectly for years.

Sounds good. MNG is Mr. Nice Guy
I use Photobucket personally. Quite easy and good for giving Message board links in tags. Also bulk uploading for numerous pics at a time. I guess others have that feature too.
I'll send you a PM Ranamar.
Lurker picks are interesting... Though it can be rough if you get saddled with something you don't like. Should be fine though.
