yikes

The entire budget!??!?! All the millions?!?!?

If we did decide to do International management, we could always make it a 12 month turnset given the much fewer amount of games.

We could always stay at AFC Wimbledon and just have an international job as an extra bit on top - that's normally the way I keep interested.

Turnset 3:

Like promised, here's the highlights of my turnset.

The nPower league 2 games were very easy when we had the full squad to play with. An injury that affected Ciaran O'Neill during one of the friendlies set us back a little, but not by much.

AFC Wimbledon 2 - 2 Brighton and Hove Albion:

The first difficult game was against Brighton (nPower league 1 team), the League Cup 1st round, played at home. The squad was a bit tired after only three days of rest since the previous game.

Here's the end game pic:

Well, it was a thrilling match. We started leading the score and generally playing better, but they got the tie in a corner. After that, I thought it was game over, since the whole team was very tired. But we manage to handle it to extra time.

But there wasn't much hope left. I doubted we could suceed in the PK shootout and it all got worst when they scored their second goal. A lot of our players were in 50-60% condition. But a quick counter attack gave us the second goal and the opportunity to try our luck in PKs.

I admit that after our first penalty (missed) I went away from the computer, because I didn't want to see it anymore. Our best PK player had 11 or 12. The rest was less than 10. After I saw the results I was very, very happy. I thought I was letting you guys down, but, in the end, we managed to go forward.

Coventry City 2 - 3 AFC Wimbledon

LEague Cup second round, against a nPower championship team, away from home. Surprisingly, it wasn't a very difficult game. We dominated it and should have won by a larger difference. When they tied the game 2 - 2 I was furious to think we could be eliminated while playing such a good game, but we got the 3rd goal in a corner almost immediatly after.

Match stats:

[Image: CoventryvAFCWimbledonStats_MatchStats.png]

Notice the 5 CCC against their 2.

Millwall 0 - 2 AFC Wimbledon

League Cup 3rd round, yet another championship team, away from home. We were throughly dominated on the first half and the loss seemed obvious. But in the second half Chicharito decided to make the difference with a very quick goal. From then on, we dominated and got another goal in a penalty.

Leicester City 1 - 0 AFC Wimbledon

League Cup round 4. You guessed, championship team, playing away. They dominated us the whole game, but only scored in the second half injury time.

Here's what set us back:

Yup, Chicharito injuried for 2 to 3 months, a massive blow. Without his speed, there wasn't much to do against a superior team and we ended our League Cup run.

Another really annoying thing was when this started to happen:

It only got worst while the turnset lasted (more players being called). We lose our best players for 1/2 matches, which is very annoying. The backup players are nowhere near the level of our starting eleven.

Anyway, I can give more information about any games in particular if you guys want. Making it short, our squad is very good when we have all players avaiable, so winning the league games is not that difficult. When the good players start getting injured, called for national teams, etc., our performance drops.

Here's the tactic I used, with my prefered starting eleven:

Seems our fate at Wimbledon may not be entirely in our own hands as there's talk about the fact our contract runs out at the end of the season. I tried taking a screenshot of it using Steam but it seems to have failed miserably.

Board is willing to look at getting another parent club so we'll wait and seee what happens there

Huddersfield 1-1 Wimbledon
A gritty draw was earned. Huddersfield were on top most of the game but most of their efforts were from long range or headers that were straight at the keeper. They got a soft penalty on the 19 minute mark to take the lead and it was looking ominous. However one long ball found McCall who took the chance well to level things up. Our defence held firm against the pressure and we held on for a draw.

4-1-3-2 just isn't working and I'll go back to one of our other 4-4-2's

The 4th Round draw is made, if we get past Huddersfield, we get to play at home.....vs Man Utd!

Stockport 0-2 Wimbledon

The first 15 mins was perfect, a long range belter from Diazayakana and then McCall stuck one away from the edge of the box. Stockport then had a striker who was on a yellow card already booked and subsequentely sent off for diving. What followed was less pleasing as Stockport despite only having 35% possession and being a man down, created all the chances and it was only some poor finishing which let us get away with a clean sheet. 2nd time using the control setting, both times we've dominated possession but had no edge to our play whatsoever. I'll give it one more try before scrapping it.

Looked to renewing O'Neill + Macdonald's contracts. 2k per week would be necessary, is this ok? That would be a 50% rise to their current pay

Wimbledon 2-0 Port Vale

Top (well 2nd anyway!) vs bottom saw McInnes score a sitter in the 1st half before Diazayakana got himself sent off for a late challenge. Like the previous game, the team with 10 men were in control of the game from then on. Morgan scored a header (possible handball) with 15 mins left for the all important 2 goal cushion. Chicarito was only on for the last 15 mins but still had time to hit the crossbar with a sitter and then shoot straight at the GK twice within the space of 2 minutes. Just a note, McInnes was absolutely immense in this game, he was able to chase several 'lost causes' and win the ball back and he was good enough to play others in regularly.

We sit 2nd in the table behind Aldershot, next game is the 3rd round replay

Good start.

Don't worry about the contract stuff, it always comes up but they will 100% offer us a new contract - they just wait until March or later to start making a move for some reason. Hold back on it as long as possible as it is much easier to move clubs with an ending contract than a longer new one - they will keep offering.

4-4-2 always seems to work for me and O'Neill's best role is as a DM and with his passing skill, he was why I used the diamond formation. If you go to the diamond, use Harrison Moore as the AM as he was so much better than the others despite his stats last season. Unless a loanee can be signed of course!

McInnes is a real work-horse, he really does complement Chicharito well when he's on form.

In terms of screenshots - I used FRAPS as print screen doesn't work on FM11 it seems.

Good luck in the replay!

You can use alt+f9. It saves the screenshots in .png if I'm not mistaken, which is bad, IMO, since I can't upload them with dropbox and have to use photobucket.

Umm... is this a good time to mention I'm using Brian's flat 4-4-2 instead of diamond? lol I wasn't happy with the AMC options we have and that 850k loanee we have only likes playing in the direct centre as well.

I'll have a play around with it tomorrow, photobucket loves to shrink my images nowadays (see my FFHPBEM6 thread) so I may try another image hosting service

This works except for screens during a game, for those it's a case of PRNT SCRN button, and then paste into Paint (or similar).

Oh, and yay me on the tactics. But I usually get a lot more exotic on team settings.

And in SP, I'm playing with Crawley, but my cup run looks like:

Jeez how strong is your team Brian? Beating Liverpool is very impressive!

Quite strong, and I was able to really push the budget, Crawley has a sugar daddy chairman.

My defence is as strong as Wimbledon's, midfield is stronger (by a bit in the centre), but the attack was weak by Wimbledon standards.
