I personally don't. But if you want, there's a repository here http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Graphi...repository

I would gladly love to see a DF SG, simply because i want to learn it but just don't know where to start =)
Jkaen Wrote:Thoguht I would try to give it a go, but cant handle the base ascii view, do you guys use any sort of tileset or alternate view for it? The "Lazy Newb Pack" has several tilesets and lets you swap them around painlessly. (it also lets you adjust options easily and comes with some handy utility programs)http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=59026.0 Amelia Wrote:I would gladly love to see a DF SG, simply because i want to learn it but just don't know where to start The DF wiki is a good place to start: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Main_Page Captain Duck's videos are also worth watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn1iW1QN7_s (it's about 2 1/2 hours long....he's also got some videos up for earlier versions of DF @10 minutes or so each.)
If you want a good 'how not to Dwarf Fortress,' go check out Billamanjaro and someone else's challenge forts. IIRC, it should have a wall paper with unicorns shooting rainbows.
I'll check later but between those two guys, you had 1 or 2 serious forts, and then a human town embark, and then Wooden Woods the Wood of Woods Wood Fort, and a volcano fort IIRC.

Another interesting indie game has come out:
Frozen Synapse It's hard to describe, it's a bit like the planning phase of a tactical shooter, but I recommend you take a look at Cynical Brit's youtube review here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jJrUY27O0Y
yeah I've been thinking about getting it but have been unable to convince my friends to try it too

Dantski Wrote:yeah I've been thinking about getting it but have been unable to convince my friends to try it too It's one of those games that look awesome but the minute detail of it will eventually make me go crazy. Although buying it just for the soundtrack would be hilarious. And for rewarding them for doing something this epically awesome. I've been following since early dev and was always concerned about the UI, but it looks like they've nailed it pretty well. spellman Wrote:Although buying it just for the soundtrack would be hilarious. I made sure I purchased the soundtrack edition, it really fits the "cyber/futuristic" atmosphere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p63QjOGVjh4
Another interesting title I came across today is "Terraria".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K8PMG42l3M Actually it was the best selling game on Steam this morning, so most people probably know about it. Is anyone here playing this ? Looks a bit like Minecraft in 2D |
