Been busy lol

The revealed locations are 3 super islands. Each have large amounts of seafood, and one of Yggdrasil, Ruins of Patria, or Dragon Bones.

Nice sites if you can take them and hold them. That they're on islands means that any CIV going overlords is going to be able to hold them better.

I moved the settler one east and settled there. Loses plains/river tiles for grassland/forest tiles. The map seems to be dry in the initial location, started in on Agriculture and a Worker. Why not play for broke? It's not like I get anywhere with conservative play it seems lol

Tech Calculation Modifiers:

These are read out of the XML file and are specific to Fall from Heaven.
 • Quick - 67%
 • Immortal - 120%
 • Standard - 130%

Overall Tech Cost Modifier for this game is 104% or so (ignoring rounding for now) from the XML values.

Surprising piece of knowledge from the XML - TECH_COST_TOTAL_KNOWN_TEAM_MODIFIER is 10 in FfH, as opposed to 30 in base BTS. So only a 10% catchup bonus if you lag the entire world.

The game has been moving rather slowly. I've lost both my scouts to animals (Bear and Scorpion) and just finished a worker in the capital. Warrior next as the worker farms the plains wheat. Research finished on agriculture and set to calendar so that I can hook up the silks.

Total Tech Path:

(Exploration) -> Agriculture -> Calendar -> Ancient Chants -> Mysticism -> Education -> Hunting -> Way of the Forests

I need to explore whether it is superior to go for Education before Calendar. If that's the case, then the tech path should be:

(Exploration) -> Agriculture -> Ancient Chants -> Education -> Mysticism -> Calendar -> Hunting -> Way of the Forests

or

(Exploration) -> Agriculture -> Ancient Chants -> Education -> Calendar -> Mysticism-> Hunting -> Way of the Forests

Just looked at your start screencap now and man just look at all those hills metaphorically dying for the Elven Dwarfish economy! wink

With both of my scouts killed by animals, we're not likely to get a greater view of the world for some time (my warriors will stay at home so I can get my settlers out more quickly) - so here's a composite view of what I can see.

EDIT: Here's a tentative dotmap. Red are cities I want, other dots can wait quite a while. Goal is to found the Silk/Wheat/Deer site as my first expansion, and then follow up onto the plains-hill/incense/wheat/pigs location.

Built myself a world with same settings and the map as I see it.

Turn 50:

Evermore Builds: Worker, Warrior, Warrior, Warrior, Settler (size 3), Granary, Settler (Size 5), Warrior, Warrior, Warrior

Hyll (founded T35) Builds: Monument

Bruti Founded (T45) Builds: Nothing

Researched: Agriculture -> Calendar -> Ancient Chants -> Mysticism -> Education (2 turns left)

6 Warriors, 1 worker, 3 cities.

Running God King/Religion(Starting). In retrospect, should revolt to nationhood at the same time I revolt to GodKing.
