Dwarf Fortress Succession Game

As ASM said its just a realtime (updates every 0.2 secs, can be choppy and laggy) viewer, and doesnt show items, stockpiles etc.

I do tend to run the game, the iso viewer and Dwarf Therapist ( a dwarf management utility) at the same time though without too many issues.

Thanks for the info, both of you.

Well, probably I'll still not try DF then. But I'll still enjoy watching, so carry on!

Holy crapolies. That's a lot of cool stuff in that bundle.

I just use Therapist and Mayday's tileset.

But yeah, Stonesense is AMAZING for screenshots. mmm isometric view.

And I'm the opposite. I found the DF for the first time around early version .2x (.23? or maybe even .18? can't remember now), there was no world generator, no third dimension and all the embark sites had similar general layout ( river - cliff - underground river - chasm - lava - adamantium ). I'm just too used to the default ASCII font, it also carries some information ( stone/ore types ) that I'm not able to recognise on other tilesets and feel lost without rolleye

Good turnset Jkaen. That cave-in was most likely Dicorion digging a channel under his feet into an empty space bellow and falling down with the floor. You have to be careful with channel designations or your miners will do that once every while.

Or in my case once quite intentionally, and into the barracks.

Great game, thank you for posting this thread.

Tried it out excessively this week and had my first few fortresses destroyed in a lot of funny ways lol.

So just name a dwarf after me ;-)

lol Remember....Losing is FUN.

Do you have any preferences as to what sort of Dwarf gets your name?

Miners, Masons, woodcutters and haulers are in plentiful supply at the moment. wink

A miner would be ok so I can dig myself to death - or be drafted into the military and die in battle :-)

Well, it wouldn't be DF if there wasn't a cavein or two. :neenernee

Stonesense... I should probably try that out sometime. I usually play modded DF though, so I'm not too sure how well it'll work.

Oh, and I noticed that I don't have a dwarf anymore in the second version of the fort, so here's requesting a dwarf please. I'll take woodcutter just so that I can read happy reports about myself being torn apart by ambushing goblins and unfriendly wildlife. lol
