So after de-fogging a couple more tiles, I see that I in fact only have two certain land bridges, and possibly a third. My current theory is that we are all in some ring chain of islands, perhaps with a meeting point in a central hub that is largely a tundra shithole. We shall see.

I'll send a screen when you let me know whether to include resource bubbles or not.

Heh, no worries. But for future reference, if our goal is to NOT have to promise to not do X, the two main things we want to avoid doing are:

- Bring up promising not to do X
- Say we wouldn't do X

Here is the screenshot I have prepared for us to send him.

It sounded like he was willing to send first though, so I'll wait on sending it off.

Next turn's micro is to start stonehenge and fishing. Set research to 100%. I think we should move Strider (? the southern guy) back north to us, and the new warrior N-NE.

All is well:

I this case, I don't think it'll matter, due to geography, but I see what you're saying there.

Also, thanks for playing the turn. I have a class in 40 minutes and I meant to not fall asleep again for an hour after turning my alarm off.

Oh... also, sometime soon, we're going to need to leave a warrior in Barad-Dur to keep it from going into "no defenses" unhappiness. Other than that, I'm delighted to see we're chugging along. I'll tell GES that resource bubbles will be on for the image.

GES knows resource bubbles I told him in a quick chat.

Actually the warrior that just built I have left in Barad-Dur so he can be the garrison unit.

Played turn... a forest got chopped; a mine is 1 turn closer to being built; the northern warrior moved farther along the land bridge in the North that finally has a light at the end of the tunnel; the southern warrior moved north to get closer to exploring the west coast...

EOT, fishing came in, and the capital's borders popped. Look at what we discovered!

Copper! Also another land bridge... also also a really awkward fish, if we want to block the land bridge, so we'll probably have to just rely on culture for that one.

Finally, for posterity's sake, GES's land:

I don't expect anyone to do anything immoral or be offended by posting that here, even if I don't intend to share it further.

We have copper ON a bridge? I see GES has silks on a bridge but that's a Luxury resource not a Strategy resource! And he gets horses in his capital with a border pop?! And he's Egypt? He doesn't even have to settle a second city to get a strategy resource! C'mon... Additionally how many rivers does he have running through his lands?? We only have 9x2=18 river tiles. GES has 23-24x2=46-48! Also we have a desert/plains wasteland to the north of our capital, I only see a small desert patch NW of GES's. He's got lots of green for his next couple cities. Our sole advantage is that our capital is better earlier with wet corn instead of dry corn and cow(6 yield) vs sheep(5 yield+1C) and we have a second gems.

I'm calling bullshit.

So I think the plan now is to aggressively settle north for better land and resources sooner. Possibly the next city goes desert hill next to the fish. Then we press further north for the cow/pigs site. That blocks the other bridge and gets a stronger city faster. I'm not really happy comparing lands but I have faith, we just need to be aggressive.
