You can't really compare across games, but you're certainly dominating this game.
I have to run.

LP, as you seem to be storming ahead on techs and game score, as far as I can see from what you have written, could you take time to post us some of your F screens--- its a bit difficult to keep up!!!!!

I think the biggest difference is you got NAPs with all your neighbors and were able to focus exclusively on building, while Spulla got attacked by 5 teams fairly early. On the flip side, they played a FIN/PHI leader on a map that had more commerce opportunities. So, what novice said . The thing I've most enjoyed about your game is the different way you've gone about your economy. For example Courthouses and the Forbidden Palace prioritized earlier than I typically look for it, or certain wonders that don't get a lot of love. Those were all excellent decisions on this map and in this game, and I've learned a lot from lurking your thread .

Not sure how I would have fared in a similar situation that early on. Of course, the criminal lack of coordination between the 5 helped a lot, but having to produce all that military still set Sullla/Speaker back considerably. I wouldn't be in the same position I'm in at the moment in this game if I'd had to fight wars of that scale early on.
I do wonder just how much of a difference being Financial would have made to my game. I guess it'd be possible to work out, if only roughly - I'd guess I'd be a few techs further down the line. Heh, what I wouldn't have given to be allowed to pick Huayna Capac... Then again, perhaps it would have resulted in people being more inclined to war with me earlier, so maybe it wouldn't have ended up helping.

Admittedly some of these strategies are new even for me though. Pretty sure that's the earliest I've ever gone for the Forbidden Palace, for instance - simply because the geography of the map and the perfect location made it such an obviously useful early build. But yeah, stuff like the religious trio of wonders is something I've definitely aimed for (and got) before, simply because it's so powerful in almost any situation.

Well, we got a Great Merchant as our GP (yes, another one ). Fairly obvious choice for his use - pair him with our next GP for another Golden Age. Assuming our next GP is something other than an Engineer and a Merchant, of course.
Rego also got a Great Merchant, which he's intending on using for a trade mission in our capital. I'm okay with that, I guess... can hardly deny him as one of our few remaining (supposed) friends, after all.

So, a nice decent picture update for 1100 AD (turn 170), as promised.
Cities part 1/2 (breakeven science):
Cities part 2/2 (breakeven science):
State of the economy (over 1500 beakers per turn at breakeven, as promised):
Currently active trades (none with the civs missing from this shot):
The tech screen:
Religion spread - we're a solid third in the statistics, not too bad considering it's pretty much just us with the religion.
The AP votes screen shows us that Rego, SleepingMoogle and Luddite (to a smaller extent) are spreading our religion a bit. I'm amused by Rego in particular - apparently after all that talk about how it wasn't worth him spreading it without me paying him, he realised that it actually was. Plako and Locke don't seem to care less about spreading our religion, which is fine. Mackoti, Adlain and Nakor still lack any Christian cities. We're still by far the dominant force in AP votes, which is good to see.
Demographics, taken with a breakeven tech rate on a typical 1 prereq tech that no-one else has to show the most accurate GNP. (I'm considering researching HBR this turn to build up some overflow, which is far from an average tech - it overinflates the GNP to about 2500, probably due to "known tech" bonuses.)
Top cities. Mackoti's hanging out at #2... good on him I guess.
For anyone interested, here's the ranking list of buildings I've built thus far in the game.
And that's about all for now. Hope you enjoyed the update.
