Done it again and played the turn and forgot to upload the screenshots (I play at home, write reports at work)
Victory Ball has been founded in the NW at the previously stated site. Resisting the whip this turn, although Brussels and Windsor are at happy cap (all be it with 1 whip anger each)
Now even in power witht he otehr 2 graphs I can see, so may need to switch to a bit of military soon

Ok, couple more turns played over the weekend I have not reported on yet.
I guess first thing is the map of my current empire:
As you notice Gems has not been settled as I pushed my settler past it towards the spot where my impi is. This was after a bit of scouting where I saw he had a settler heading South, and I decided it was worth establishing cultural borders sooner rather than later.
I also have metal casting in and started to head towards monarchy to work on my happy cap. Styles has started the forge and will try to follow that up with a quick colossus.
I also get graph visibility on Terror next turn and will switch to Piet (will include the graphs in my report)
Demos are here.

Quote:Piet,
Sorry for the delay, while I play at home I tend to write up at work and between
the weekend and forgetting to transfer the screenshots its took longer than I
meant to.

With regards a NAP, I guess we may as well put one in place, lets say T100
inclusive for now?

Doh, and I just noticed that 1 unfogged coast tile at the bottom of the landmass, if that stops me getting trade routes, I won't be happy!

Forgot to mention, TT has an axe 1SE of the pig, and a settler 1NE of it, hence why I changed settling patterns so quickly.
Also hence the diplo response below:
Quote:TT,
I am happy adding say another 50 turns onto our NAP to take it to T125 (inclusive) if you fancy it.
As for settling arrangement, due to SL going missing I think its been delayed to the point its not worth having now. I have a settler about to plant a city, and once that is done I will not plant any more towards you, they will all be backfill, or settling away from you

I am a great Scapegoat aren't I!
Agree that you should settle the city past the gems next.
Once that is done it will be easy to get a settling arrangement as we won't have any more cities to settle towards his core.

We are finally interesting enough to get a lurker thread !
In other news more diplo from Piet
Quote:Hi Stephen,
looked over the map and I can agree to our settlements there.
It seems to be a slightly better deal for you (3 different luxury resources for you, while I get one luxury and spare strategic resources - and you get most of the riverside land), but I will take it anyway - I believe we had a good diplomatic start and should not haggle too much over details.
Perhaps we can consider trading a spare luxury of yours vs. health resources or money of mine in the future - just an idea.
Regarding the sheep vs. clam deal, I gladly took it. I would like to change it to crabs vs. clams when you hooked up some more crabs though - the map seems to suggest a trade like this, with your south all crabby and my east rather clammy.
Another information - You will notice in a few turns I will gift spare sugar and wheat to TT - thats my part of an agreement over not competing for GLH that we made around T40 and I have unfortunately still to pay (TT beeing rather complicated to deal with as you know).
Thought I would drop this to you as a note before you are wondering what is going on there.
Best regards,
Peter
And my response
Quote:Hi Peter,
I did think I was getting slightly better land, but couldn't see another way to do it, and since you have the advantage with the GLH on the open borders we signed I guessed it would be ok.
I have no problem tweaking the trade agreements as and when we find something that makes more sense for the both of us.
Thanks for the info on TT again, its getting to the point I need to be thinking about renewing my NAP with him, when does yours run to? I may as well try to get it to the same date just incase we do some sort of joint attack
Regards
Stephen

We were talking the other day about making friends with Piet - I mean, siding more long term with him rather than just amking deals of convenience.
The more I think about it the more I like Piet as an ally.
- He seems quite chatty and has given you a pretty good deal on settling.
- He has been upfront about his deal with TT as he realised that we may have a beef with TT long term.
- He isn't going to be too near us and although we will share a border, it is a border that will be the least developed in our empire.
- With the land we have secured in the deal with Piet and potentially annexing TT's land, I think we will be in an excellent position to launch a win.
I would recommend that we look to trade with Piet as much as possible and keep him friendly. What is the current NAP with him? It probably isn't the best to just propose a stupidly long NAP, but getting one of half decent length would be great.
What are your thoughts?

Agree it seems to make sense to team up with him mid term.
As for NAPs, we currently both said we had no objection to them, but were not that bothered at the time (aound 20 turns ago). Now we are going to be settling near each other maybe it mkes sense to get one
