Hey Yuri, I know you already played the turn, but I checked out the save and noticed that the workers at Maximum are split up: one mining grass hill and one pasturing pigs. My instinct was that we would have them both on pigs to get them up (and their awesome 6 food) as quickly as possible. Does splitting them optimize things in some way I'm missing?
Also: I'm having a hard time resisting posting a bunch of party smileys all over again.

Hey, yes, I realised that joining them on the pigs would be better, unfortunately that was after I played the turn
Overcelebration of the Oracle?

Ah, no worries then. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing.

It's been quite a few turns since I last updated the thread. This is mainly because not much has been happening after we got the Oracle; we've been slowly getting the essential techs skipped before, and restarting our expansion and scouting
We're currently at T38; on T37, we met the RL7 team. That was an unfortunate moment; we were just going to found the 3rd city, and if they became aggressive, their Warrior could capture it before our forces could arrive. If we didn't establish immediate friendly relations, we would have to delay the city for 3 turns. Fortunately, they requested open borders right in the initial contact message; we couldn't sign it immediately, because neither of us had Writing, but we agreed on an immediate 10 turn rolling NAP. This allowed us to found the 3rd city as planned. They will benefit from open borders more than we will, because they already have Sailing, and I suspect they're going for TGLH; but TGLH is less powerful on a small map, and I think the benefits they will get are a fair price for expanding in peace
We also agreed to discuss wonder builds with them, and they told us that GLib was their top priority. Of course, we also wanted it; but after some thought, we realised that it would be difficult for us to beat them anyway, if they beelined it; and if we tried, we would have delayed crucial techs like Fishing and Math for too long. So we offered the following agreement
Quote:1. The Radioland empire does not attempt to build The Great Library
2. The Middle Earth empire does not attempt to build Mausoleum of Maussollos
3. This agreement becomes void on T80; if either wonder is not built by that time, both empires can attempt to build it without repercussions
We'll see how they react
Here is our current dotmap
The Blue dot was founded T38, Orange and Green are currently planned next. This may change, because Till is going to the east to continue scouting, and we might find better city sites there
Demos T37 (didn't capture the latest ones)
Techwise, we're just a few beakers short of Writing, then will go Fishing-Sailing-Hunting-Math
Oh, and we finally adopted Slavery, on T35 or T36

The latest demos, T39
And the Top5 cities
Ranamar's empire is quite impressive, I can live with the cap at size 6, but I didn't expect the 2nd city at size 5. I wonder how many Workers he has... need to get back to C&D attempts
(sorry about that strange letter in Ranamar's capital name, I have Russian locale set on my PC, and it causes Civ to display extended characters incorrectly)

Till found a fantastic city site in the east: hill pigs, hill gems, cows and horses. He will look around to unfog the remaining tiles, but I'm strongly inclined to settle there asap
I will still settle Green next, for quick happiness, but the next Settler should go this way. Maintenance will be severe though, we're spreading like plague, with cities more and more remote from the cap

I've downloaded and looked at the turn 45 save. Here are my thoughts: - Which way will we send Till? South would explore the coastline, but I don't think there could possibly be anything there that would change our placement of the desert dot. I say we just go East with him.
- Kiril Karpov should go 1N and start roading, yes? that should finish and connect the ivory in 2 turns. I only mention this because my first instinct on looking at the save was to road in place, which is not optimal.
- Nashe has not yet stole river grass cottage NE of Ultra. Nashe can't work it for 2 turns, but we don't want to forget to steal that tile.
- Best FM finishes a granary in 2 turns. I'd vote for forge->lib->scientist specialists. Granary will be 39/40 after this turn. Seems perfectly timed for a 1-pop whip for overflow into forge.
- Work Boat is done in Maximum. Do we sneak in a forge now? I think we do.
- We currently have 5 workers for 4 cities. How do you feel about 1 more from Ultra before next settler?
- We can eventually consider a fort 2E or 3E of Maximum. It would act as a canal for workboats from maximum to get to the northern coast. Of course, if we settle 3E or 4E of maximum, that won't be necessary. This is a low priority, as Nashe will probably have enough production to pop a WB or two.
I didn't actually play the turn, but those are my thoughts on the situation. Also, we're #1 in score... When did that happen?!

* Yes, I'm sure the new Magenta location won't change. Till is going in general northeastern direction, sticking to defensive terrain
* Yes, Kirill will road 1N, although Nashe Radio is already connected to the trade network. I don't understand why, but I'll take it. Philipp Galkin is joining the Workers around Nashe to improve the 2nd ivory faster
* I won't forget about that cottage but Nashe won't work it until size 4, it will work wheat and 2 ivory tiles, switching to 2 ivory and 2 cottages at size 4
* I agree with 1pop-whipping Best FM, but I'd like a Settler there afterwards (for the new Magenta). Remember its happy cap will be at size 3 once it's whipped, so it won't be able to grow. A Settler would let it live through the unhappiness period
* Maximum is building a Forge, yes. Then we need another Axe to replace the one in Best FM, who will go to the new Magenta
* Agree we need more Workers soon
I think our first place in score comes from the land, thanks the early border expansion at Maximum. I didn't expect it too

I've noticed that in SP before as well. I know that Sailing says "Enables <trade symbol> on rivers" and "Enables <trade symbol> on coast" but in my experience that actually happens with Fishing. I googled a bit in an effort to confirm that suspicion, but didn't find anything. Maybe a knowledgeable lurker can enlighten us?
