Hmm, that sucks. Well, I probably will be at war with both of them soon enough. Moogle won't though.

Ocean routes go around your borders anyway. So Astronomy may let them keep trading anyway. This map might allow a block though.

So, everyone closed borders with parkin this turn, except for mackoti, adlain, and Rego. That should slow down his tech speed a bit.
I just finished replaceable parts, giving me a bit of extra production from my windmills. I've got 10 more turns to prepare for war with mackoti- just enough time to tech gunpowder and rifling! The best units he has are knights, so I should run them over easily with rifles, but I'll need to slave a lot to build them in good numbers.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention last time that Locke and SleepingMoogle have declared war on Adlain. Judging by their power graphs, and the screenshot that Locke showed me, I'm sure they'll have no trouble taking down Adlain. Although, adlain has had guilds for quite a while, so he can probably rough them up a bit with his knights.
Anyway both Locke and Moogle will have quite a bit of territory after this is settled, maybe more than plako. However, assuming that I finish off mackoti and grab a good chunk of land from Parkin, I might end up in the lead in land.

Me too.

geez... you guys...
So anyway, in game diplomacy, locke reports that mackoti has 20 knights, and about 20 other miscellaneous older units. That'll be annoying, but I can handle it. He's teching astronomy and building caravels, but I think locke or nakor will loan me frigates to deal with the naval threat.
And rego is apparently refusing to renew his NAP with plako. If he goes to war with plako, that'll be extremely bad news for our alliance. Here's what I posted on the alliance forum:
Quote:With rego... I just don't get it. I mean, I can understand why he might not want to joint our trade embargo. Maybe he thinks we'll beat Parkin easily, and he wants to make it harder for us while getting some extra trade income for himself.
But, to actually ally with Parkin and declare war on plako? That doesn't make sense at all! Surely he realizes that if Parkin wins this war he'll have no chance at winning the game. And rego/sunrise don't seem like they would want to just play for second place.
I left out one thing. My best guess is that rego will not actually attack plako while he's at war with parkin, but will wait for a chance to backstab plako after parkin is crippled. That could be very useful for me!

So, one small piece of good news. I'm closing in on #1 in food! Of course that's only because Plako and Parkin are doing mass slavery/drafting (parkin is drafting 5 rifles every turn). Mine will drop soon, but it's still nice to see.
Rifling is due next turn. Then it's crunch time- build as many rifles as possible. I've got 23 catapults built already.
