It's definately not ELO hell anymore, thank god for that. But you still get occasional strange stuff, like in that replay I posted, we had a 2vs1 top lane and 1vs2 bot lane.

Just had a game in which none of our players had any map aweraness at all. All of them overextended, got ganked, then overextended again and got ganked. Of course they all blamed it on me. Yeah, it's my fault you've never heard of such things as last hitting or overextending, or that you offer yourself on a silver platter to the enemy jungler and roamer every time you get back there on your lane. And in the process eliminate any chances I had of ganking since you're always sitting at the enemy tower. Our mid Annie was 1700 ELO but lost the lane to a Kayle. 0-5.
In other news, the offensive runes work ^^ Tried 21/0/9. Jungling gets a BIT rough, when I finish my second round through my jungle, I ended up with under 100 hp. Kills on the other hand.. Went 6/3/5 in a 25min stomp loss.

My Nocturne went 16/0/14 with a similar runepage to yours (just no mana regen blues, magic resist per level blues instead) and using the Wolves->Wraiths (smite big wraith)->Golems route he isn't really going too dangerously low with a Vampiric Scepter. I hope that you micromanage your champion to cover as many creeps with Umbra Blades as possible? (You will also steal more health if you combo Dusk Trail with Umbra Blades) This makes everything go smoother and faster. You can get a Cloth Armor and a health potion on your way back home and you shouldn't be hurt much in the jungle.
Cloth + 5 pots also isn't dangerous if you get a leash, it just helps to maximize your jungling routes.

My drill when last hitting is to fire up a custom game with no opponents, then see how quickly I can reach a given creep count without items or leveling up skills. It's not quite "real", of course, but it doesn't take very long either.
I've been "catching up" with a bunch of co-op games lately. Primarily it's for the practice in communication, but it also helps to see how well my creep scores compare to other players. Well, helps in the sense that it reminds me that while my creep scores suck, they could also be a lot worse.

It's also possible to start a Summoners Rift game 3v3, so you have an opponent in mid. Sivir works out nicely, since she will try to harass you with the Boomerang Blade (yes I know, still along shot from a real game ).
Another upside is that you do get IP should you decide to take down the enemy Nexus after ~25 minutes of farming.

Yup last hitting is all about practise. Once you play enough with the same build and character, you'll know precisely when to hit. I always go Doran's blade first on MF simply because I mess up last hitting so badly without it! Just so used to that +10 dmg.

I play a decent amount of Nocturne and I like 11/3/16: get the aspd and armpen in offense, 3 points in armor, and everything through movespeed in utility. I prefer mp5 to straight mana but whatever. 3 points in armor is really good in the jungle - I run it on every jungler except Fiddlesticks and maybe Nunu.
Runes are 3 ArP red 6 Aspd red, Flat armor yellows, flat CDR blues, Aspd quints. Don't run mp5 blues, huge waste on a jungler that will have blue for first 10-15 minutes. CDR or aspd or even flat MR are so much better. I like Aspd quints and 6 aspd reds better than Armpen for Nocturne because it makes his jungle so much faster and helps his midgame where he is naturally the strongest. Not quite as good late game but you will have ghostblade then anyway.
As for paths, watch TheOddOne's Nocturne tutorial for an interesting discussion of two options:
1. If the enemy jungler is going to start at blue with 90%+ certainty, start cloth armor + 4 (!) pots. Go wolves -> steal enemy blue wraith with smite -> your wraiths -> minigolems -> recall and buy vamp scepter -> complete jungle route starting at blue. This is really strong as it prevents the enemy jungler from hitting 4 on his first pass which delays his ganks by around a minute or so. 4 pots is so you can buy vamp scepter when you first back. Don't walk straight through mid on your route too, it a) shows where you are, b) steals mid's XP, and c) lets you take hits from the enemy mid which you can't afford.
2. If the enemy jungler is flexible and doesn't start at blue, open vamp scepter, and go wolves->wraiths->minigolems->recall and buy cloth armor and 1-2 pots->full clear from blue. Not quite as strong but you still get lvl 5-6 very fast this way.
There's a third, safer option to just go cloth armor + 5 pots and start at your own blue and full clear. This wastes more money on pots than the above alternatives and leaves you with red + blue for less ganking time.

Quick question.
Playing alot of Ryze atm, as a beginner would it be a good idea to enable smartcasting?

Ryze is one of the better characters too smartcast with because it lets you get your combos out a little faster so its worth trying.
Best advice is try it and see if you like it, smartcasting is mostly just a personal preference.
