Did anyone want to play through the main campaign?

Which one is the "main" one? Is it the Heir to the Throne one? I have played about 1/3 of that one solo, but it was while I was learning the game and I totally screwed up my unit development. duh

I would be up for an SG for the main campaign (whichever one it is lol).

Well I'd classify that as the main campaign because many other campaigns revolve around the characters in it. Its about 'average' difficulty. The other major 'main' ones are Delfador's Memoirs and Legend of Wesmere which are abit/much harder.

I would be in for a SG as well. Whatever campaign you deside is the "main" campaign

What version would we be using? The previous SG was played on 1.8.0 (if I am recalling correctly), and 1.9.something was released while it was in progress. I am not sure what the changes for 1.9.whatever were, although I remember reading that the lowest level chaotic human unit with both range and melee (footpad?) was nerfed. Given that class was our bread and butter for much of the previous campaign.... lol

ASM were you thinking of waiting for a fourth person or should we start a thread and get this game started.

@Haphazard1, we used 1.8.5 last time. I think we should stay with what we used lest time unless somone has download a newer version.

OK, I did not check the version directly, I just remembered it was 1.8.<mumble> and that 1.9.whatever had since been released. I am happy to continue using the version we used before, if that works for everyone.

A fourth person (or more! No experience actually required, look at me! lol) would be nice, as turns will rotate rather fast with just three. But I am willing to go ahead and get started, although I may not be able to play a turnset a day as we sometimes did with the previous game. lol

What difficulty setting do we want to play?

Nightmare.

I think that scared everyone off, ASM. lol

Could someone break down the differences between the various difficulty levels? I don't know if I am good enough for a game on Nightmare. I've played and won a couple campaigns, but on much less challenging difficulties.

That didn't scare me off I was just waiting for ASM to start the SG off. I want to get my face pounded by some AI's right now.

The differences that I know of between the difficulty level is how many enemies and how long to finish senerios.

so we will need to kill more people in less time.

1. Fewer turns to complete the scenario. (Or MORE turns if you have to survive against a large army.]
2. Less starting gold for you.
3. More starting gold for the enemy.
4. Possibly higher level enemies being recruited (such as level-2 trolls instead of level-1).

That list is what the forums say the major differences between difficulties are.
