I have already told sunrise to reload, so it is going to happen. I don't know if I am right or not, but such are the decisions that must be made.
Ellimist Wrote:In pitboss 2, Whosit asked for a reload after a similarly major misclick and it wasn't granted. I don't really see how this situation is more deserving of one.
I wouldn't have ordered a reload for Whosit either. There is a major difference to me between misclicking a unit at war, and accidentally clicking one of those dopey pop-ups that annoy the shit out of all of us while playing civ--and doing so at peace. It doesn't matter if we all know that war is coming, no shots have been fired yet.
Parkin said he wouldn't object to the reload if others would allow the same thing for him. Maybe he said that rhetorically, but I do believe Gaspar and plako when they say they would allow Parkin to reload if the shoe was on the other foot, so as far as I am concerned, Parkin's condition was fulfilled too.

That's a bit harsh.
At best, his unfamiliarity with the community spirit here would make him defensive: maybe he is taking the sour tone of this pitboss game and thinking that is what really goes on in RB. At least, i'd like to think it was more this than him just wanting to win at any cost...
I am disappointed he didn't agree to it and kept the 'what if' conjecture to himself. It'd be good sportsmanship, and probably won't change the outcome in the long run.

Sometimes I feel like calling him T-Hack because he knows coding way more than me.

I agree that LP's "no, because no one would do it for me" stance was hostile and undeserved. At the same time, it seems like saying this situation isn't a war is only the flimsiest of technicalities; war hasn't been declared in game but it's definitely a war in every other way of looking at it.
Of course, at the end of the day the reload will make for a much more entertaining game to watch, so I can't say I'm unhappy.

Yup.

Is it true though? I'm not so sure I wouldn't predict events to go as he suspects if he were the one requesting a similar reload at this point.

Well, it depends on the reasoning. What I do feel is wrong is to state that without that reload the game could be ended right now (one of the points plako stated why the reload needs to be done). That might be right but that should not be the reason to allow the reload. Otherwise the game can be reloaded after each battle anyone loses against LP.
Anyway, it is good that GES did decide it in the end. But I still think he should have decided it from the get-go and that it was unfair to ask the players. Because most of them either don't care or are in the alliance against LP, so a majority for a yes is pretty sure anyway. Asking LP was unnecessary for the decision and only needed if one wants to paint him as the bad guy.

Have we yet had a pitboss game where the admin was loved by all at the end? I think that kind of goes with the territory: they're there to make the tough, unpopular decisions.

The only thing worse than playing in a big pitboss game is being the game admin of a big pitboss game. That's not entirely true. While both are slightly worse than having Krill as a dedicated lurker, they are much better than making a map for a game Krill is in.
