I think what you are missing is the fact that Rego & sunrise don't play for your or other peoples pleasure/fun but for their own. That they find a fight with plako more interesting than the logistical nightmare fighting LP would be is easy to understand.

Just because Plako was mean to you earlier? I guess you might be tired of playing and want to roll over and die, but is that really fair to the other people who commited so much time to this game? What am I missing here?
Uhhhh did you read what I wrote?

One quick note - Parkin has transports and rifles. We have galleys and when the war started we had rifle, singular. Almost every city we have is coastal and they're defended by warriors or (power!) Impis. Allying with Parkin means Plako's fleet was sunk on t1 of the war, allying with Plako meant we lost a city per turn minimum.

Sunrise couldn't play this turn so I had to. As I mentioned, I unleashed my horde of banks and universities on plako

Which like I said in the email / IT thread is fine by me. I have to say I don't really get the "LP hate" that everyone seems to have but I can understand that maybe I don't have all the info

I mean isn't this about the same situation as the PBEM4 vets game? While everyone kind of agreed that playing on was more about "stoking Krill's vanity", nobody seemed to get all vitriolic about it....

Well, PBEM4 is smaller (there's only 3 of us against him, not 8), and I've made it clear that I want to fight it out. I know I'm going to lose, but I want to give Krill a properly bloody nose for it.
Also, it's a LOT EASIER to keep on playing when one doesn't have a sprawling 35-city empire to manage for no gain. A PBEM4 turn takes 5-10 minutes if I don't have to deal with complex war turns. How can you manage your civ in less than 30?

I guess that makes sense. I was under the impression that nobody but Krill wanted to play on. But really, everyone is just humoring him, same as this game?
