Epic 7 - Blake's Game

I didn't report Epic 6, so it's only fair I wrote (what I hope to be ) a good report for Epic 7 because this epic really was a lot of fun, of course I knew it was going to be a lot of fun. Immortal, and a duel with my favorite AI, Alexander! What could possible go wrong?

Epic 7 Report

A nicely written report. Congrats to the victory.
And I am surprised somebody actually built ironclads.
I guess they made sense for your game, despite being voted the most useless unit over at CFC (competing with muskets I believe) :-)

The line of the report: "I have potentially 36 warriors just in existing pop." I do think you make uberfish's point about the strength of the Pyramids quite nicely. A space race victory was the last thing I expected from a Blake Report, but it was well played .

I'm going to track everyone's opening for comparison, I have yours as:

Research Path: Mysticisim -> Polytheism -> Fishing -> Monotheism (partial) -> Priesthood -> Monotheism
Build Queue: Worker -> Warrior -> Workboat -> Workboat -> Settler
Second City: NE of Stone, date unknown.

Okay, regarding the pyramids and Great Library, I can't and won't argue that they are not critical for research.

Maybe in some games the CS Slingshot is the killer strat but I tell you this - in this game it will be the Pyramids + Great Library duo...

But I will argue that research is not necessarily the killer strat for this game. Maybe just the killer research strat.

A well written report, thanks for the read. A few points: I agree the pyramids/TGL combo was great on this map. It allowed us to just about keep up in tech with the AI.

I was also declared on while defending with just warriors, but alex never landed an invasion. I loved the warriors vs horse archers war. Not sure why he behaved so differently in our games.

Also, did you miss a canal city? Mine was really useful for me.

Your game shows me that there are openings and strategies in CIV I never venture to try though I should. 7 turns for maths at 0% science is really something. Thanks for the funny report too
