Its been a while since an update. With an intensive workload and most of the diplo work done while Austria was being dismantled there's been very little chat time or time to enlighten you much more than what my moves actually do.

I think I am probably on the verge of being dogpiled by at least Turkey & Russia with Germany having a profitable reason to attack me and France could try and grab a piece.

Once again, work is going to stop me having anywhere near enough time to get a full picture or smash some people's heads together and get them to go after someone like I did for the Austria dogpile.

Russia has already failed in a stab against me in Trieste. I played an almost complete hedgehog move set to protect my holdings due to complete lack of diplo time. I am more than likely to have to do something similar unless my emails are replied to and I have the time to craft a proper plan.

The almost definite agreement between Russia & Turkey to not compete in the black sea is a pretty clear indication of the possibility of a Juggernaut alliance forming.

If I had had the time, I reckon I could have killed off Turkey with Gaspar as we were working on final plans for it before I lost my computer & internet access along with all my free time.

Worst case scenario: Germany into Tyrolia & Russia/Turkey cooperation to continue with me losing one of my SCs or possibly two if Germany supports or is supported by Russia into Vienna.

Fingers crossed Gaspar is just trying to toy with Turkey & takes the black sea in the fall.

My laptop dying and internet failing really has scuppered a lot of my efforts in this game and my enthusiasm has waned a little.

When I had consistent access, I was chatting a lot and was the major driving force behind the Austria dogpile and was pretty sure I had secured Gaspar as a long term ally to kill Turkey.

Now it seems like a juggernaut is brewing with the Black Sea empty once more and France is growing into an imposing power with the imminent demise of England. I'm completely out of the loop (if there is a loop judging by the organisation thread) and I as I am out of the swing of thinking strategically for this game, I'm not sure where to go next.

Either way its probably moving towards an offer of assistance for second place to either France or Russia but I am unsure of their interest. I have sounded out France and I have had words with Russia.

I am not sure if I can trust Russia after two failed stab attempts and the empty black sea. The latter must change to even start getting me on side, but I think he's made his bed now.

I would like to work with Commodore but right now I think he is as isolated as I am and that as the 'central' powers we are too vulnerable to work together. I need a safe east or west flank and Germany cannot give me either.

France is a mystery. I could be very useful for him but his building of southern fleets suggest he may start trying to threaten my Home SCs.

So right now, due to circumstances outside my control, I am left pretty disconnected and isolated. I am having to rely on someone else instead of pulling the strings.

Lets see if I survive!

That looks like a beautiful stab of Germany! It looks like you've gotten Russia on board with at least temporary cooperation, too. Tell me more.

To be honest, I am a bit ashamed I haven't updated in so long but its been crazy. In any other diplo game I reckon I'd be quite isolated and possibly crippled after 2 weeks with little internet access and no time for diplo.

Instead, everyone else seems to have stopped talking and I have fitted right back in and pretty much picked up things where they left off.

Me and Russia have (in my eyes) a fully fledged alliance which I had almost fully tied up before I went quiet. He then stabbed me because he got paranoid but they failed and I have his best partnership options so he's back on board after some proper chats and planning time.

The stab of germany was something I was hoping to leave a little longer (he'd left munich unguarded for ages really) but I was under the impression that France would have stabbed me in the undefended Tunisia (as I had to move my Tys fleet back to defend Nap from turkey) and I needed to take 1 SC to avoid disbanding. In the end, bob let me off the hook and so I get another build and Germany can't respond.

Now both me & Russia get a build (QUESTION - Could he get 2 builds if he retreats his fleet into unguarded London?) which should help us dismantle Turkey while Germany is out of position.

The stab has worked out pretty perfectly as only me and Russia should benefit the most so his disbanded unit will be interesting.

If he disbands his fleet in Belgium, France *should* start piling in and speed up his demise. If he disbands anything in the Scandanavian region, Russia *should* be able to regain dominance and be able to take his holdings there. If he disbands anything in Eastern Europe, he could soon be overrun from that flank.

Germany is in some trouble now.

All I will say is that I think I am enjoying this game more than anyone else in this game. Jkaen is as good as dead, Jowy has checked out and wants it to end, bob only half cares and Commodore is now in trouble.

I am hoping more than anything that I can continue to exploit this and reach a joint victory with Gaspar as the minimum result.

If there are some other things you'd like clearing up then I'll do my best to do so.

I have some records of chats and emails but they are not supremely awesome.


One other thing:

I could have taken Budapest this year - and indeed for a while begged Gaspar to let me so I could gain a build as I was certain I would lose Tunisia. But I did not so that Russia would gain a build as me having 2 builds would not be as useful in terms of finishing Turkey. I therefore hope this gives me even further brownie points with Gaspar as I really want this alliance to hold until the end.

Yes, I stared at the map for a while, and can't figure out what Germany can spare. Just about every unit he has is needed to maintain status quo on one front or another, and crumbling on any of them ought to snowball on the others.

Which is why in my opinion it's such a nice stab - you only got one SC out of it, but the timing is exquisite.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for that. I stabbed him more as an attempt to compensate for what I thought was a certain loss of Tunisia.

So I had a brief chat with Gaspar, and he said that he would be fine with a 3-way win split, after we all work together to finish off England / Turkey / Germany. Does that sound good to you? I think that a 3-way split is pretty fair, since I feel that Russia, Italy, and France have played the best (probably in that order too, with Russia as the "best"), and over half the players being dead means that we won't be ending the game as a total farce.


If Gaspar is true to his word I should be free to take london this year, hopefully he can take sweden so that if I get Brest back england will be eliminated, or if I can't for whatever reason he'll at least be down to a single fleet and gone the year after. I should also be able to start nibbling on Germany with Holland, and then supporting you / Russia as need be to eliminate him. You should work with Russia regarding Turkey, and I'm happy to assist you with my southern fleet if you need support.

Something to consider - a joint victory with Italy would be pretty good for me.

Only disappointment is how it seems everyone bar me has nearly totally checked out of this game.

Jowy has gone missing again and is not sending any orders in. Unless something is up (and I hope not), he is spoiling it for a lot of people simply because he is unlikely to win.

What do you guys think?

Looks like this is about to become irrelevant.

Everyone's just giving up and not caring about the game and its really annoying. It seems people just signed up because it was the 'new fad' like WW was for a while and now they have decided they don't like it so that's it and stopped caring.

This is about the first game of anything at RB where I've felt 100% on top of a game and always knew what I was doing.

I reckon that had it continued I could have pulled of a dual victory with Gaspar or possibly even a solo if I had got a bit lucky as it seems i'm the only 'schemer' in this game.

What a waste this effort is becoming.
