Maestro Wrote:"No city gifting" does leave a lot of room for interpretation. We should decide what that means. I personally read it as "Good faith in city gifting" which I will attempt to describe in more detail:
  • City gifts as part of war concessions are ok
  • Negotiated city gifts are ok
  • City gifts to 3rd parties to avoid capture are not ok
  • City gifts to build UBs and return are not ok
  • Intentionally undefended cities are equivalent to a gift. Thus, they should follow the same rules from above.

To me, no spies means no building spies at all. You cannot do missions with them, and you cannot scout with them. With those restrictions, there's no point in building them anyway. I believe PB4 has said that Great Spies must be settled or Golden Aged. I am fine with that.

Regarding Great Generals and XP, I think the spirit of the rule is that you have to earn your own XP for Heroic Epic and West Point. If you couldn't build the wonder without the trade, than you can't build the wonder with the trade. Thus, in terms of legality, splitting the XP from a general over two units is the same as spending it on one.

Commodore Wrote:Certainly I think that if *checks diplo screens five turns ago* say, some player (call him Anamar) allowed another player (call him...Riyu) to raze a new city somewhere and then declared peace, that would be kosher. wink

I agree with both of these 100%.

C-c-c-combo breaker! I'm already at work, so it'll only be one turn today. Thanks everyone for the nice Sunday turn rate though.

OK great, now we have one post by a player and one person agreeing with it instead of three players expressing no disagreement with a post by someone else.

I just want to know what the rules are. cry

I say we just basically adopt the Pitboss 4 rules, minus the Pitboss specific stuff re: turn timers.

Guys, I decided to take a holiday from 27 July to 3 August. Maestro will be the primary turnplayer during this time; I will still be around, checking the game and emails, just less often

Hey, MNG, have you checked out on us?

All of a sudden, the turn pace has tailed off considerably.

Sorry to have held the pace back a bit this week. It's been an insanely busy and important week for my company, and my attention has been necessarily directed elsewhere. Most likely it'll be Wednesday before things calm down, but after that things should return to normal - at least from my end smile

Until then, I'll continue to be able to at least play my turn slot, if not once more per day.

Damn are we spoiled this PBEM. lol

I move to my new house this week, so this week will be insane for me. Not sure when I will have net access at my new place, but I'll make it work.

Hey all! I got the save from GES but there is a situation in game that requires me to confer with Yuri. I'm going to hold it overnight to give him a chance to get back to me. I should be able to play tomorrow morning. (around 0300 GMT). Just letting everybody know that the short delay is intentional.
