Make that C4/Commando/Mob1/mob2.....Hameh put in the killing blow against the BFM and picked up 20 xp (95% odds after a RoF and a suicide Spectre).

The AC is now up to 43 so the first of the Horsemen should appear next turn (170).

End of turn 170 means the end of my NAP with Mardoc. I've been beefing up my defences in the cities he can attack (two front cities and two coastal cities). He can probably capture/raze one city, but I should have enough defenders to prevent him from running through to my capital.

I won't be placing any of the Puppies or Mardero in my front cities. I'll keep them for counter attacking.

The big problem is that I can't see any of Mardoc's units in his territory unless they are in a city thanks to NoxNoctis so I really don't know what he can hit me with.

If he doesn't attack on t171, I'll hit his front cities as hard as I can (which will be plenty hard. wink ). Not sure if I'll try and keep them or not.

It'll be another 4-5 turns to finish mopping up Nykrorion's island cities, but that war is won.

Just a quickie update....

I've captured the CoE holy city from Mardoc. (Hasted Mob 2 C4 Commando Aeron's chosen Axe wielding Assasins are pretty fucking cool)

Following that, I killed off Hemah (with Mardero not Hameh unfortunately..) and Saverous.

It would appear that Mardoc's assesment of how this war would play out was a bit more accurate than my own.

He's still got his worldspell to use, but I've gutted his core with my suprise package and I used Seven Pines this turn to reposition my forces (which are now invisible when in my territory and outside of cites. Nox Noctis is a bitch to play against....if you can't see it, you can't kill it. Hawks don't work. Floating Eyes don't work. Revelataion doesn't work. CoE doesn't need a buff, the invisibility from the shrine is more than enough)

I burnt another of his Island cities as well, and just for shits and giggles I finally popped the Gobbo fort on the Island.....got me 4 Azers and a buffed up Spectre. Scratch one of my Stygians on the barbs turn. In the meantime, Mardoc gets to deal with some Azers and suchlike.

I'm 1-2 turns away from finally eliminating the Elfs and with Mardoc on the ropes it looks like WK and I for the endgame.

Nox Noctis needs a nerf. Floating Eyes and Hawks should be able to see it, at least. And Perfect Sight units. And I think the CoE OB backstab may or may not need a nerf/removal. The rest of CoE (except Gibbon) needs a buff.

I haven't tested out Perfect Sight vs Nox Noctis, but nothing else works (other than Ninja-ing the holy city).

The OB backstab can be defended against by closing borders (which I did with Mardoc on turn 170 just in case).

But the impervious invisibility is fucking nasty to try and defend/attack against.

As a religion, CoE sucks. But it has some very, very nice toys to make up for the lack of temples ect.

Ah, but is Mardoc *running* CoE? The shrine is great, but you don't even need to be in Esus to get the benefit. It's just a grossly overpowered wonder, Esus still blows.

Edit- Also, post some pics! It would be nice to see what you're actually fighting against and with (invisible units notwithstanding).

Mordoc isn't running CoE....he wouldn't have been able to keep Hemah and Saverous if he'd swapped out of OO. There is plenty of benifit to CoE even without running it as a state religion.

I'll see about getting a few screenshots up tonight. Both Mardoc and I have taken some hefty casualties, so our armies/navies aren't quite as impressive as they were a few turns ago. wink
