[SPOILERS] Isabella of Carthage, starring Ellimist, SleepingMoogle, and Nicolae

Played the turn.
Both of our explorers uncovered a lot of land this turn. I'm thinking next turn we'll send the warrior south or southeast and the worker either to the hill tile or southwest-south toward the pigs.

Ugh, no second food at the Copper site. frown Too bad we can't have both the Fish and the Pigs.

We should send the Worker towards that southern Pig resource then. Hopefully that will make for a better third site.

According to Kuro, there is a spot with 5(!) floodplains not far from his capital. Hopefully we find something similar.

I'm thinking after the settler, Sirius can put out a scout or two and then another settler. Meanwhile Canopus could do workers pretty fast, all those hammers will get the expansive bonus. I do want to put libraries in them both soon but with Sirius now having Hinduism it might be worthwhile to slot monotheism before writing (so we get the OR hammer bonus on libraries.)

Kuro's had the save for nearly a full day now. I hope we get back to a nice pace soon.

We're still trying to do too much at once. If the plan is to REX, then infrastructure is a second priority, something to invest hammers in after whipping to regrow a city. Also, Workers and Settlers won't benefit from the OH hammer bonus, so I'm not too sure why were still putting so much stock into it. Also I just don't know what the diplomatic situation with Kuro is anymore.. are we letting him have Judaism, which would require us to delay Mono, or are we taking it for ourselves?

Canopus is a hammer-focussed city, and has no need for a Library any time soon. If it should build any infrastructure right now, it should be a Forge, and/or the Colossus. Perhaps it should even finish a Lighthouse before we consider a Library. But the first build after the Granary should be a MP Warrior to allow it to grow and work as many tiles as possible.

Sirius has enough early commerce potential to warrant a Library sooner, but a Forge would increase hammer output, and much like Canopus infrastructure should mostly be something to build when recovering from whips. It also needs a new MP Warrior now that the old one is scouting the mainland.

The above probably sounds a bit cranky, so apologies. It was swelteringly hot over here so there wasn't much sleep to be had.

Yeah, most infrastructure can wait, but I'll make the case that after our next wave of expansion onto the mainland, our 2nd build after granaries should be forges. The question is whether or not to get the +25% building bonus and the unlocked missionaries.

If the plan is infrastructure, we'll want the OR hammer bonus. I was getting the impression that libraries/writing were a priority, but personally I don't mind waiting for them.

If the plan is to REX, won't we want missionaries so we can skip monuments? Or could we just go for CoL?

Nicolae Carpathia Wrote:An okay deal. Methinks going Writing-CoL or Writing-Mathematics-Currency-CoL or some permutation is a good idea, I think doing Locke's slavery/caste flipping was extremely strong. If we're going to get Mono, then we'd better allocate a good missionary pump, Canopus should probably do the trick.
Right now I'm actually leaning towards this. If we get access to caste system soon enough we won't need missionaries to pop borders and we should get some free spreads.
Animal Husbandry came in at EoT and revealed a lovely spot for our third city, between pigs and horses on a river.
I'd like to settle copper/gold/fish asap(fourth?) as well, and popping the borders with an artist seems more efficient than a missionary. I'm finding good land further inland, but I want to prioririze coastals.
Writing will take 3 turns and Code of Laws 11. We could get Maths-currency first and get a prereq discount on CoL, but that would add 10+16 turns which doesn't seem worth delaying Caste system.

Made contact with NobleLewwyn, exhanged emails that didn't really say anything important.
I feel like this is the team to watch out for but who knows, maybe we'll find some common ground. They're probably a little irritated at us for building the Oracle out from under them.

Settler finished at EOT.
So do we settle pigs/horses? The only real alternative I see is NE of the horses and share the fish with Sirius, but that might be more overlap than we're looking for with a 3rd city.

A scout also finished EOT in Canopus. I'm thinking either a second scout out of Sirius next(so it grows onto the new cottage,) or an MP warrior. Canopus is 5T from next growth, so perhaps it should do a worker/settler?
