Sure it's the right day? Nobody has showed up yet! Maybe everybody is too interested in the other games to remember this gentle adventure. Well, maybe this time I'll make it into the top 10 rolleye

It was not a very exciting game on my part, the low difficulty level made me play badly. However, there are some points of interest, which are two tactics I adopted, which border the "exploit line", since there's interest in these subjects I've put some emphasis on them. The first is the Fishing Village Spam, and the second is the Cossack Rush. Even if not optimal, they pushed me further ahead in both economy and military than I thought possible (together with the contested CS slingshot, which I tried for the first time, and didn't find so incredibly powerful). Six overlapped "1HammerPerTurn" cities that net half my research? Cossacks that force enemy units except catapults to suicide? This has happened in this game, tell me what you think about it.

EDIT: corrected a couple mistakes.

I'm totally going to post my report by the end of the day. I should be working on that rather than reading your report...

Actually, Closing Day was listed on the website as Monday, September 12. This could quite easily have confused some people. frown

mucco Wrote:The cheesy fishing village spam was also quite awful: it provided me half of my research throughout most of the game, in a Pangaea map! I just have to guess that in Archipelago, every island with 3 or more tiles should have more than one city, and you'll be set forever. Of course, this tactic needs both sea wonders, and it's less effective when there's lots of food to spam cottages, but still.

When you have lemons you make lemonade, not cheese. In this instance the Ice Age map handed you a big one, and you made an excellent choice by squeezing those coasts for all they were worth.

A very nice read. I expecially liked the NBD win and your arrows - it seems everyone but me can do nice arrows.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

A good report. I often mess up the diplo win myself forgetting I might be up against my best buddy.
Fun read.

Man, I don't know if anyone else noticed, but you seemed to lose a lot of units to 80% or higher odds? After reading the third incident or so in your report, I was getting pissed for you!

I’ve never seen nuclear backdoor domination before - nice work.

I love the closeup shot of the longbowmen hiding their eyes from that attacking cossack. cry It sums up the Cossack perfectly.

I'm surprised by the early barb axeman. The barbs were really light for me in this game.
