The Big P: Friendship is Magic! Ragnar of France, it is now...SHOWTIME! (Kuro)

I will make some actual posts later, as it is 8:48 AM, I have not slept and I need to retain mental facualities for the 10 AM blitz I have stayed up all night for.

Preliminary info:

My cities will have a naming scheme from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I felt like making a The Big O reference, even though I still need to watch it in full
Big O = Me, Big Duo = Jkaen, Big Fau = Twinkles

My capital will be Canterlot, the second city will be Ponyville, unless something appropriate causes a change.

And now...

IT'S SHOWTIME!

(No, the P is not a typo. P is for Pony!)

I see no reason not to settle Canterlot in place. I will have to move scouting units for Ponyville, though.

Just to play devil's advocate, what about city locations 2NW and 2S of the starting settlers? Both are on plains hills, and both can be scouted by archers on the first turn.

They need to be scouted before settling, but it will be hard to beat 8 Flood Plains, grassland Iron, irrigated Wheat, two Plains Hills, a Grassland Hill, Plains Hill start and a grassland or two.

One uber city isn't worth a few marginal cities because of the uber city grabbing everything.

I am with pindicator at the moment.

I would settle 1 city on the plains hill 1W of the northern archer (2NW of current settler location)

The other city then has a couple of options

1) 2S is pretty nice but i'm not 100% on it as it currently has only 1 food resource which means at least one of the FPs may have to be farmed to gain enough of a growth surplus.

2) 2W on the plains tile could be useful.

- It grabs the pigs as well as the wheat and can share the iron for when it needs production (and units placed on the Iron can reinforce either city if needed)

- Picks up 3 FPs and a grassland river which is cottageable straight away as the 2 food resources give it enough of a surplus without farming it.

- Leaves room for a city to be settled on 2 of the plains hills W of the floodplains which would use up the other FPs later (especially if another food resource is in the fog

It's hard to say if it would marginalize other cities, given we can only see enough space for one right now, but the big capital right now still seems like a good idea, being Fin with FP and Beucracy soon.

I see your point, but I think my two suggested cities are better as they will work together quite handily but will still be pretty damn strong.

Its up to you, but I am worried that putting all our eggs in one basket may be a bit too risky. Could you construct a dotmap or something so I can see where you are planning to put your 2nd city so I can see if that isn't marginalised too much.

I'm only going to dotmap after I scout. Dotmapping beforehand is just wild guessing for the second city.

I think I agree with the 2NW, 2S suggestion based off what we can see atm

Post-movement scouting. I honestly think I should settle in place, but opinions?
