A lot of the time it's even like above, where I type it correctly the first time and then just randomly type it differently the second or third when talking about the exact same movement.
I only seem to mess them up when giving people directions to the airport!

Shoot - could you please login, scout, and take screenshots before the game restarts? I would do it myself but cannot login.

So I moved some, but not all of our starting units:
The scout still has one move left on it. We can decide where we want that to go probably after the reload. I haven't moved the worker or either settler.
Right now, I'd consider a city 1S of the corn and 1W of the settlers on that plains hill for a great capital starting spot (lots of yummy riverside cottages. If that is the case, I'd probably move the worker 1NW to chop on this first turn.
Thoughts from other people?

I agree with your placement for the second city - though those peaks are a little bothersome - and with placing the capital on the plains hill.
I'm a little torn on the capital location - 1W of the plains hill would grab five food resources and get a +2 health bonus from fresh water. However, it would take two turns to settle and lose a couple choppable forests.

I think I agree with Shoot's suggestions for settling.

Couple issues here... First, you aren't actually going to use all 5 food resources, so that's not really a pressing reason to found the city. Some of those foods will inevitably need to go to other cities, so I don't think that's an issue. Likewise, +2 health from fresh water is not very relevant when this is Pacal AND there is a bounteous supply of health resources (at all the capitals, really). So I don't think those are particularly good reason to moves... Add on to the fact that 1W of the plains hill loses the +1hammer for the plains hill start (which is relevant when building Expansive-enhanced workers), as well as the fact that the FW is at its best when chopping forests... So yeah, I think the capital needs to go on the plains hill here.

But.....but.....a five food capital is just so sexy....

The other advantage of plains hill is it has a couple more riverside grassland (and 1 further west leaves a couple of those in awkward positions to get with another city).
Do you guys think SW for the scouts second move (other option I see is N)? That would allow going to the grass-forest-hill the next turn.
Also, if we are agreed on settling on the plains hill, I think the worker should go NW and start chopping.
Finally, where should we move that eastern archer next turn. SE seems like the first glance obvious choice, but looking at it a bit further I am actually a bit preferential to NE. Thoughts?

Agree on both - settle on plains hill and move the scout sw.

Move the archer SE

What should we build in the copper, corn, crab city? With no forests in the immediate tile radius and no available worker to chop something, we'll have to slow build something until we get a second worker running around.
Furthermore, as a meta-gaming observation. We should probably slap a city down in a high production spot pretty early on and make it a dedicated fast worker pump for the rest of the game.

One thing I was thinking about in PBEM20 that applies here is settling on the river vs. one off of it. If we make it to levees, being on a river is totally worth it! But if we're more thinking about maximum potential ASAP, it probably isn't.
