I kinda disagree about Taric's viability in teamfights, especially in comparsion to the other supports.
Taric has 1 single target stun, a pretty much nothing heal, an ult that you can't use more than 5 seconds nine times out of 10, and his armor buff. Compare this to the other 4 supports; Alistar, Janna, Sona, Soraka. Alistar has one of the best initiates in the game with flash. Without flash he still has his q,w, his ult, a more spammable heal of about the same amount of Taric. Janna has a shield that gives your ad carry a BF sword+ of AD dmg, a knockup, a slow, and her ult. Sona has her AoE CC ult, a movement buff, a more spammable/stronger heal, and the potential to also lower dmg/movespeed on a single target. Soraka can silence and do incredible heal.
Taric's early-mid game is very good. His late game, his teamfight is not as strong as the other supports.

Oh yeah, the biggest problem is Taric is split over too many support roles, and definitely not as powerful as a pure support. But still crazy fun to play.

Ouch, so Soraka's heal is going to heal for a tiny bit more in laning phase at the cost of doubling the cooldown. I think this is a pretty big nerf. Lategame Soraka looks like she's going to be virtually useless not being able to heal for as much in either a short space of time or in sustained push.

Yeah I normally think people massively over react to changes but doubling the cooldown on the heal is huge. The other changes are interesting but I am not sure what role Soraka will effectively fit now. Starcall is stronger but it is still a skill that in most cases will either get you killed or push your lane if you use it.
The Soraka changes plus the fact that Sona's heal might as well not exist now (for reference when she had a 0.5 ap ratio the base numbers were 30/55/80/105/130) makes me wonder what is going to happen to everyone else with a heal. They are going to have to do something serious to Nidalee's heal to bring it into line with these changes. Also will they change the sustainable junglers/top laners?

A typical Riot reaction. "Supports are too strong so now we will nerf them into oblivion." Those proposed Soraka changes will make the champion utterly useless... like, Evelynn level useless. I really hope they don't go through with that, and I'm not the only one as the 400 downvotes (and more than 1000 posts, most of them disagreeing) suggest.

I kinda hope they would nerf supports to the ground. The pure supports anyway. I'd personally find it much more fun if the supports are gone from the meta and replaced with, say, niche champs like Poppy or Blitz, or perhaps hybrids like Morgana.

That's exactly the reaction I would expect from someone who plays Janna as an AP carry...

Sullla Wrote:That's exactly the reaction I would expect from someone who plays Janna as an AP carry... Well, I wouldn't say that I play her as AP carry, considering I've only ever played two games with her. But still, I find some currently non-used champs way more fun to play than pure supports. The gameplay of sitting in a bush, just shielding or healing another player, and not even killing minions, is a bit dull. Team fights aren't that fun either, you're just as passive there. I know supports have their fans and I'm not trying to say that everyone hates them, but just personally it'd be a dream come true if supports get nerfed

I'm just unsure why Riot makes such a large change to the numbers (although remember this change may not occur), does anyone know how these proposed changes would match up to how Soraka was when she was last considered useless?
What I don't like is how they're actively encouraging supports not to build AP items, Taric's AP ratios aren't bad but its not what you build first on him, Sona's AP ratios are awful, Soraka's heals in this proposed change would be a big drop on what they are now, Karma's heal isn't anything special and neither is Alistars. Feels like Riot has regressed and gone back to killing off heals as a major part of the game.
I'm the first to admit my lack of skill and knowledge of LoL, but the AD carry + support bot lane thats emerged over the last few months seems very suspect to a strong duo such as Garen + Taric (unfortunately Garen isn't good enough past level 10 or so) or just about anything + Alistar.
