So. Will it massively wreck your entire micro plan to have me switch that desert tile 1E2S of the warrior to a plain? There's an ongoing greening initiative going on in the world. Nothing else in view will change.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

That's fine. Thanks for asking. (In fact plains are almost as useless as desert.)

Do we want a religion? Yes/No
If so, do we want an early shrine? Yes/No
Do we want stonehenge? Yes/No
Do we want more settlers and workers? Yes

When do we need a strategic resource hooked up?

My answers:

I think we'll get a religion eventually since CoL, Philo, Monotheism are all good techs for us since they have good civics. So IMO getting e.g. Hinduism isn't that important.

We want a shrine but there's no hurry to get it.

Yes we want Stonehenge, but we do have one significant competitor for it - Cyrus of HRE. With IMP and rathouses it looks like Fierce wants to spam cities, and CHA + spammed cities + stonehenge is clearly good. And he starts with Mysticism so there's no tech opportunity cost for him. (And also we won't be able to C&D whether he can build it.) Therefore I'm not sure it's worth trying for.

Yes. smile

Edit: I'm thinking maybe Hunting -> AH to start. AH finishes just as the road does - in case horses are in one of our capital grassland squares, we could make the pasture before camp if we want.

2nd in turn order, not bad. We know what to do for the first 6 turns, at least.

Let's not wander too far with the warrior.

Well I think there's still a question of whether we want 1 more overflow hammer from the worker/settler or 2c.

Assuming there aren't any more map changes than the desert-plains one i think scout should go NW-NE and warrior S.

Flip a coin, at this stage in the game a mouse could starve on the difference between 2C and 1H.

Come on, someone has to know that reference smile.

What, you think later in the game the distinction will become more important? wink Actually in pbem19 this same choice made a huge difference.

You've already determined it doesn't change the tech or unit time correct?

I didn't follow PBEM19, but I find it hard to believe 1H or 2C can make a "huge" difference wink.

Early game I think 1H ~ 2C. Late game I don't think 1H ~ 2C. Hammers are more important early in the game due to expansion needs. Later in the game I think economy becomes more important. A bit of trivia, if you use the settled GP yields to setup a set of five equations with five unknowns, you find (approximately) 4 culture = 2 gold/beakers = 4/3 hammers = 1 food.
