My reason for founding NE of everyone, was to deny access to the East for Cathy with early closed borders (which settling on the stone or 1E would not do).

This city could be also quite hammer-poor (after de-foresting) and posibly food heavy, so missing the quarry bonus could hurt.

Pling, thank you very much for putting together these maps.

Part of the reason for difference in settling pattern might have been the competition from AIs. (For example, Cat wrecked my plans several times, forcing me to found a couple cities in awkward locations.) Most of the blue dots (and the purple one) are in good locations that were easier to reach for player than for AIs.

Catherine stole the stone site in my game (and probably a lot of other people's games too.) I do agree that founding directly on the stone is the best spot if you have the site.

I wanted to found on the stone resource - but I would have lost the site if I took the time to move there! (I think I wrote a whole paragraph about that in my report, so probably don't need to say more here. )
