Testing the Waters that Balance Erebus: Fast and Dirty

Alright, I guess we better stop highjacking the Mod thread.

So, a 2 x 2 PBEM, using Sareln's Balance mod.

The players:

Ilios
Darrell
Mist
Kuro and/or Mardoc

The settings:

Darrell mentioned identical leaders/civs on each team, and I think that might be a good idea.

Unless someone objects, I propose we let Sareln/the mapmaker/the RB community choose the leaders (restricted).

Mirrored starts seems to be the way to go.

Do we start this game in a Permanent Alliance? I'm leaning towards no, because this is not a game on how to use synergies between two civs.

Immortal Diff?

What else?

Agreed. I'm not hung up on having the same leaders, whatever Sareln decides is fine with me.

I'll be lurking with great interest!

Seems to me you should be testing the leaders/civs who got changed the most. Maybe Falamar? Flauros? Mahala?

Doviello have gotten a ton of changes in early revisions (units repriced and stuff too...) so Mahala could be a good idea.

We had an adventure based on Falamar, so it might be better to see if Hannah is as ridiculous as she was (probably not, what with both traits being nerfed...) if a Lanun is going to be included.

It seems like 1 rusher and 1 techer on each team could be a good choice, but I have very little experience with 2v2, so that's just a guess.

Why not golems instead? Have two civs, both who can either rush or tech, and give the teams the option to switch the placing of the two civs.

About golems, i suggested that due to the massive debates about golems... whether they're worth it or not.

Luchuirp / Sidar?

Luchuirp has the golems going for them, with Financial to help. Sidar has the weaker recon units, but with higher mobility. They can tech using specialists.

P.S. If we aren't locked in a PA, do we want to enable tech trading? Also we can't do AW without the PA.
