Honestly, MLG is being stupid about the streaming and spectating. Yes, the spectator mode is broken and Riot needs to fix it, but why couldn't they use the 6v6 custom with the map reveal summoner? Its not ideal, but it is implemented and still available for this reason. It would also allow for Yorick and Morde to be used.

It's because of MLG's ego. They want to keep up their professional image even at the cost of the viewers pleasure. I honestly don't understand why they wouldn't atleast stream the rest of the games yesterday if the problem was what was rumoured. Maybe some exec just got mad and canceled it all. I know there was an announcement by MLG early on that stated no more LoL at all, but it was deleted.

The stream for the final (EG vs CLG) is up. It's a best of 7, but CLG starts with a 2-0 lead (!) because they won 2-0 against EG during the pool play. That format is pretty dumb and gets rid of a lot of the drama because that is a huge mountain for EG to climb and CLG really really has to screw up to lose.
edit: The announcers are epically bad. Cho + Alistar started a dive against Vayne ON THE SCREEN and they changed the focus to Lee Sin killing wraiths and start talking about his Heart of Gold.

Well it looks like this will be the last match. I'm hoping for an EG comeback though, all previous three games I watched from MLG were CLG stomping their opponent and this one is going the same way too :/

That was really very poor. The format was stupid, as Bruce said, and the games were quite one-sided...

So I'm filling my new rune pages now, and thought of an interesting build. There's quints for +1 gold per 10 sec. So with three you get +3 gold per 10 sec, and +4 gold per 10 sec if you have that utility mastery. That's quite alot of gold stacking up straight from the beginning. AP quints for example give +15 AP, which is worth 327 gold. You'll get this much gold from gold per 10 quints in 18 mins 10 secs. You can stack up the effect by using this extra gold to buy more gold per 10 items. Now the downside is that with less AP or ARP (these are the usual quints for most champs since HP got nerfed long ago), it'll be harder to last hit early on and to get first blood. But I think these gold per 10 quints might be worth it on some characters, mostly on those who usually have quite a passive laning phase. I'm gonna give it a try.

The value of 15 AP at the the 0 min mark, and 15 AP at the 18 min mark, are two entirely different things. Do as you will, but if I'm playing a burst caster, I'd much rather have the early laning dominance over a marginal increase in gold. The gold/5 quints are only worthwhile on supports IMO.

Eh, Gold / 10 runes work on everyone as "generalist" quints and they're also very cheap. I know someone got to like 1600 ELO on three runepages and all of them had Gold / 10 quints.
Then again, it isn't hard to notice the strength of flat AP quints especially on champions like Sion or anyone with great AP ratios really. It especially shows if you start with Doran's Ring.
And they stay relevant all game because they are magnified by Deathcap anyway.
Has anyone tried a full Mpen setup? Seems legit on champs like Malzahar because it has more effect on his W skill (which is percentage based) and overall improves your strength.

Yeah fair enough, I'll do the same for any competitive games. What are your thoughts on this for top laners? Atm in competitive play, they sit there and farm without too much harrassment going on, which on paper sounds like a perfect situation to put those gold per 10 quints to use.
