This past year, a monument to the idea of world unity was completed. It will open to the public for discussion of world governance under the benevolent guidance of Chairman Ranamar shortly.
In order to facilitate assimilation, it is requested that everyone fill out their census survey when they receive them and promptly return them in the envelope provided with the distribution.

So, well done winning the UN race! I'll abide by my promise and vote Ranamar in the world leader elections. It's up to you guys if you want to call it now or keep on until Ranamar gets the victory video. I'm happy noodling about playing builder turns in the modern era, or just finishing with "a winner is you". Well done Ranamar!

Incidentally, if you haven't checked the victory screen lately, I've got over 60% of the world population, so I probably could just vote myself winner without any help. 
I'll be curious to find out how close you were.

Actually, if you have enough pop to do that, it won't give you the option for diplomatic victory...

In that case, it was amazingly close. You probably couldn't see my teching through espionage, but, originally, I was planning to delay getting Mass Media for another turn, before I realized my reasons for that were silly.
It was a good race, and I would have had difficulty squeezing anything more out of my timeline.

(Admittedly, my %age dropped from a little over 61% to around 60.75% this past turn...)

If you have enough pop to win diplo all by yourself, it won't give you the option. It is supposed to be a diplomatic victory, after all.
