[SPOILERS] Iskender and the Sidar

A message from Mardoc:

Quote:I've got to say - you've certainly taught me a lot about MP warfare in
the past few weeks. Thanks, I think :-/

I think my opportunity has passed, but I'll play this out.

I had thought that maybe Mardoc could've consolidated the east and waged a successfull war from there, but apparently the east is still too weak to do so.

So it means that I've won?

T174:

The SoI are left unprotected. I moved the Renegade Hill burners to deal with them. Triple RoF once again and then the Blade Tiger hit at 7.5%

and won at 7.5%. Madame Blavatsky is dead. Born and raised on a Dragon Island she had a hand in destroying the budding wizard empire, defeating hordes of skeletons and their clown masterminds, and seizing the land of burning undead. Who'd expect she'll die at tiger's paws?

Her brothers didn't outlive her long enough to contemplate this.

This ends a chapter in PBEM5. I chatted with Square Leg about what to do next and we agreed to fight the rest as 1v1. Mardoc is OK with it, he'll give control to the AI in a few turns.

Also this turn: a large part of Udenarat garrison moved north in a desperate counterattack:

They received a standard RoF + Rust treatment, this time augmented by Blinding Light

One of the Ritualists is up to 26xp

T175:

Moved both stacks near the two remaining Clan's big western cities (now starved down to 7 and 8)

Production is a mix of military and Gambling Houses:

T176:

Mardoc's counterattack was more serious than I expected

My mistake was routinely parking the stack on a hill for the defensive bonus. Tigers were supposed to absorb initial hits but they hid behind weakass units whose attraciveness for defense was boosted by the hill. Losses: Archer, Ritualist, PoL, DS, and a Ghost. That's actually the greatest single-turn loss for the Sidar in PBEM5.

Didn't change much though. New Ghosts made a strong appearance decimating Clan's counterattack stack. The Mage blinded the leftovers along with most of Udenarat Garrison

The other stack burned Shazak. I should've kept it for the nearby Nightmare, but I just couldn't resist. rolleye

T177:

Udenarat still holds. Instead of conquering it I'm trying to feed some xp off it. Three priests will be waned next turn and another three are 2-3xp away from level 6.

Burned Dirage.

EOT:

Hybo founded 3rd city:

T178:

Another city (Ah'roog) razed. The Clan has only Udenarat left in the west, defended by last 2 warriors (I'm shamelessly farming it for xp). I began moving forces towards the Infernals.

Stirrups in 3 turns.

WW is massive: 6 and 8 unhappy citizens in cities that haven't yet managed to build GH.

No screenshots this time, sorry.

I feel your pain. On the last turn of my war against the Elfs in III I had a combined total of +18 WW in GLT (3 from the Lanun and a whopping 15 from the Tree-shaggers).

Fortunately Mardoc should switch to AI soon and when he does I'm immediately offering peace.

T179:

Aeron's Chosen event (funny, 25xp was enough)

Udenarat finally razed

I'm moving troops east. The Infernal city Poena will probably fall next turn.

11 GM already settled in the capital:

Declared on the Infernals and razed Poena. Hybo in a typical AI fit decided to move north, alone. EOT he was by the Luchuirp borders. Two more units Waned.

I'm building Scouts/Horsemen to upgrade them to HA next turn (Stirrups discovered EOT).

AC at 38. Cities should be ready for Stephanos (Buboes?) - all have at least one extra meat shield in the garrison.

You should ask Darrell, he's the local expert.
