Commodore, deer and corn wasn't nice enough? You're looking at my heroic epic city, right here:
I was thinking the flood/gold site would get my first settler for economic power, but that decision will have to wait until t13 borders expand. Wow, the possibilities here are insane.
Plains between the jungles looks like the sweet spot... If it has metal it'll be perfect! With so many bald hills, I'm hoping...

Thoth,
Thank you for confirming my suspicions that Bieber is, in fact, an alien. That's why he gets along so well with Sury, and why it must be our mission in this game to destroy him. Seriously, renaming your leader like that is asking for a dogpile.

And like the first bite of a fresh cheesecake I realized... wait, I'm industrious!
The possibilities just got insaner.

You're incredibly kind, Ceil. If I was experiencing the delays that you are, I'd immediately push to chariot rush the offending player and take all his toys. Actually, you have The Wheel and are getting AH soon...why not rush the slow child?
But yes, that site screams "wonder-spam", aka, the GPP Roulette Table.

I wish we were keeping a better pace, but to be fair Cull hasn't held the turn thru his preferred play window yet. He gets another 2 hours from me before a post in the tech thread.

While we're waiting for Cull, lets have another episode of:
"Map Speculating for Fun and Foolishness"
...cuz really, there's not much else to do to keep engaged.
The two staggered maps from last turn make so much sense I really can't escape them. Assuming that the map looks something like that, I can chart "my" land easily. Green is mine, white is equal distance from 2 teams
Since I'm the Sun King, my Ottomen go in the center:
Now, as Commodore pointed out, each person would have a rough square to themselves. If I was going to put a rare resource somewhere, where do you suppose it would be??
Hey, don't those corners look like an "X" on a treasure map? In fact, the center of each "X" is the same distance from FOUR teams.
Again, the more i consider this map shape, the more elegant and fair it seems. If the first person we meet is (12,6) or (6,12) tiles away... those corners will be the best chance to find stone/marble.

P.S. If I'm totally completely wrong, so be it. I'm a noob with nothing to lose. :-)
Hey look! A TURN!

Every time I speculate about the map a turn comes around. Awesome!
I have good news to report this turn, our research came in at EOT to meet an important early-game goal.
We're Beating Bieber!
(Well, ok, we're tied. But it's progress!)
In the demos, it is known that only 2 teams went worker first! It's Cull and me, with him a solid 1 turn ahead due to early traits.
Someone is working 10 food! Most likely the Romans, who were the first to get a boat out. Meanwhile, someone is still working 4 hammers. If Bieber (must die) doesn't grow soon, we'll know it's Cull going worker-worker to start.

Oh, and careful examination of my previous post shows my next build. Everyone else will know soon enough when I'm the last to grow.
I decided before EOT, but now I'm even more sure:
I'm a firm believer in maximizing the fertility of the second city... this map is nuts!
Which site is better?
-Flood/Gold/Horse
-Corn/2xDeer?
Robin! To the Sim-Mobile!
