Astronaut without sin confounds press, invites trio to control civilization

True. Only road I miss is the one on the gold. And I notice we have more pop currently than in the previous run, so that compensates somewhat.

Got it / played t35.

The barb warrior left. smile I wasn't willing to risk him appearing next turn N of the rice with C1 and us only having one defender, so I kept a second warrior in range.

Copper appeared where we expected it.

I worked the 3/0/1 rice this turn in Callisto rather than a forest in Ganymede.

Cool, that's what I did in my sim, too.

Our demographics rock!

Okay, I typed up my latest plan, to get us GLH eot46 despite our delayed rice farm.

t34: Found Callisto, works cow, builds granary. Gany works Rice FP FP, builds warrior. Titan works forests/resources to get 11h and finish WB, while growing. B & C farm plains 1E of Callisto and cancel. New Gany warrior moves NW. Callisto warrior moves towards rice.

t35: Gany warrior moves NW-NE towards Io location. Callisto works unfarmed rice, Gany adds cow, Titan adds (hidden) copper mine and builds settler. Workboat moves north to future Io fish. Adopt hinduism. B & C start farming rice, guarded by Callisto warrior.

t36: Revolt to slavery, whip Titan for 3 pop losing forests. Ganymede builds becomes spear; it adds a 1/2 forest. 0% tech on Sailing. A moves to hill 2S of Titan. B & C complete rice farm. Callisto works rice.

t37: Settler moves toward Io onto our newly grown forest. Titan overflows from settler into a worker. 100% tech. A mines. B & C move E onto forest. Ganymede warrior moves NE onto plains forest hill 4N of Ganymede.

t38: Titan starts settler, works furs, copper, fish, deer. Callisto works rice and cow, continues granary. Ganymede works 2xFP, rice, a 2/1 forest and three 1/2 forests, puts 7 hammers into an axe and gets to 18/21 food. B & C road. A keeps mining. New worker (D) moves NW-N to plains forest at Titan. Settler moves to Io spot, warrior on plains forest hill moves N-NW-NW the next three turns.

t39: Found Io, net and work fish, build granary. D chops and cancels. C moves to plains forest hill 4N of Ganymede. B moves to forest 2W of Gany and chops, chop should go to Callisto. A completes mine. Whip granary in Callisto and work rice. Titan works fish, mine, deer, FP, continues settler. Gany starts settler and works cows, rice, furs, copper, FP, 1/2 forest. Tech to 50% to finish sailing.

t40: Tech 0% on masonry. Callisto Granary->Obelisk. C farms corn. B chops. A moves to gold. D chops and cancels. Gany whips settler, works cows, copper, furs, and grows at eot. Titan starts lighthouse, works 2xFP, deer, fish. Spear in Gany moves SE-SE.

t41: Ganymede works copper, furs, rice, and a 1/2 forest and completes the axe. Callisto works rice and cows. B completes chop that completes obelisk in Callisto. Titan works 2xFP, mine, deer, fish and continues lighthouse, grows in 1. A mines gold. D moves to forest hill 1NE of Titan. Settler moves SE-SE-SE to Europa spot. Spear goes back to Ganymede unless needed in Europa.

t42: Max sci on Masonry. D mines. A mines gold. B moves to forest 1N of Callisto and chops, then cancels. C is still farming corn. Ganymede works Rice, Cows, Copper, Furs, builds one turn worker. Callisto works Rice and priest, starts work boat. Io whips granary. Found Europa, work oasis, start Granary. Titan works 2xFP, 2/1 forest, deer, mine, fish to get lighthouse to 19/40. Spear back in Ganymede. New axe moves towards Callisto.

t43: B moves SE-NE and roads. New worker E moves SE-SE and roads, then cancels. A completes gold mine, work it in Europa. Io Granary->Galley. Titan puts another turn into settler, works Copper, Furs, Deer, Fish, Forest, Mine. Ganymede starts a spearman, works Cows, Rice, 2xFP, grows in 1. Callisto works rice and two priests. Io starts Galley. Europa works gold.

t44: Masonry->Monotheism. A moves NE and finishes road. E then moves N-NE-E to forest 1SE of Titan. C roads corn, then cancels. Titan whips lighthouse, works Copper, Deer, Fish, Mine. Ganymede builds spear, works 2xFP, furs, lake, rice. Callisto works Rice, cows, lake, grows in 1.

t45: Complete Monotheism at 70%. E moves to A. A chops. C moves S-SE to plains forest. B moves back to forest 1N of Callisto, chops. Titan whips settler, works Copper, Deer, Mine, Fish. Ganymede works Rice, lake, 2xFP, furs, grows in 1. Callisto works Rice, lake, Cows, priest, completes work boat.

t46: Tech 0% on Priesthood. Adopt OR. E & A finish chop. D finishes mine/chop. C completes chop on plains forest. B completes chop. Io works fish, corn, 2/1 forest, grows in 1. Workboat in Callisto to clams. Callisto starts Settler because it can get to 25/65 this turn to be double-whippable. Can grow to 5 next turn on galley to be whipped. Callisto works rice, lake, cows, priest. Settler in Titan moves NW-NW-NW, can go on galleys in Io or Callisto, or settle spot 3W of Io. Europa still works gold. Titan works 2 mines, deer, fish, builds GLH. Ganymede works copper, furs, 2xFP, rice, 2/1 forest and completes spear.

Some longer term thoughts. Seven's been suggesting going for an early astronomy. Optics and Astronomy can be bulbed by great scientists, but requires avoiding Theology and Civil Service so that Paper->Education->Printing Press doesn't take precedence. It also requires avoiding Meditation or Code of Laws so Philosophy doesn't take precedence. In any case, Alphabet must be researched to clear it from the bulb path.

An alternative in my mind is to go on a religious spree. Our first prophet can bulb Theology; we can research Priesthood->Writing->Mathematics->Currency->Code of Laws->Meditation->Alphabet; and our first scientist can bulb Philosophy. That gives us access to Caste system and Pacifism to easily create more great people. We can then build the Apostolic Palace and the hindu shrine. With all religions except Buddhism on our hands and Hinduism as the AP religion we have a good shot at getting many of our rivals to spread around Hinduism. The AP will be quite good for us, with monasteries and half-price temples.

Turn 36 played. Gotta love this pace.

Naturally, the jungle between Mackoti and Luddicator has a plains hill plant that grabs pigs, stone, ivory and banana. rolleye

It looks like YNL did us a favour and took out that barb warrior.

I moved our warriors in a way to try and prevent YNL from getting any clever ideas. Their warrior could possibly promote to woodsman II so they had a theoretical chance of taking our city if we didn't guard the forest and/or the city. Our workers should be safe as he can't attack twice in one turn, I think, even if the last attack is against non-combat units.

A barb warrior showed up in the south as well. We have a spear being built, though.

Proceeded micro according to my plan since we didn't have any other plans to choose from. smile

Welcome, Rowain. Luckily a dogpile is harder to arrange when you can't do diplo. Anyway, plenty of other teams are doing well too, we just stick out a bit because we only got bronze working this turn, so we haven't been whipping our cities.

I've read your (most recent, t46) plan now and I think it looks good. I'll try playing through it hopefully tomorrow. There are a couple typos (A <-> E) but nothing unrecognizable. smile
