Are you going to stockpile Sun mana to beef up Chalid? I love building him in SP just to see how high I can get his strength- I've managed over 40 before. It's obviously a total waste of mana if you intend to actually use mages, but otherwise turning him into a literal one-man army is great fun, and reasonably effective =)

Maybe - but it's not that important. He is there for collateral - and steering clear of dying. Iskender does have a nice weapon to use after all.

BTW - WTF did you you do with Orthus' Axe?

I guess I can say now. Stuck it on a unit on a boat- I wanted to see if the AI would unload it (it can't stick units on boats, but I thought that maybe it knew how to offload them), and I wanted to know what happened when a piece of equipment sinks on a ship, since I figured that Mardoc might destroy it soon. Anyway apparently the ship was destroyed, but by barbs instead (somehow), and so to the best of my knowledge the axe was actually deleted from the game- I guess it doesn't get warped to the shore if lost at sea.

Perhaps the ship was fireballed to death near Acherons city. That would be my guess.

I'm following. Late game the situation just starts to get so complex that it is not easy to give meaningful comments without seeing the save. Taking peace with Clan was good desicion I think. You've enough on your hands and really could use some time to recover economically.
