Yeah, it's true. I suspect TT is making nothing but spears right now, so I think more of an axe ratio is in order, might weave in a few extra. Minotaur will make a couple of axes for Naga's galley, which will be out a little after Sailing finishes. Then:

I did some brief analysis of TT's power graph. Axes count for 6000 soldiers all by themselves... there are very few turns where TT had that much of a bump. I think you're facing an army extremely heavy on spears...

Axes will own them.

Naga will go galleys after the granary?

Edit: crosspost!

Can I discourage the extra settler right now? Remember the two rabbits! Besides, you need to keep your city count down for the expected, ah, acquisitions.

If it's not too much trouble, is there any chance we could get a map of the tactical moves you have planned out and your objectives for this war before you get this party started?

Okay, Ceil already caught the gist of it, but I do have a little more concrete plans. First off, I'll listen to by ded-lurker an avoid making an unwise settler right now, preferring instead to use the extra workers on chopping out more keshiks and axes. Secondly, I'm researching sailing now to make an axe-laden galley surprise in addition the main stacks.

My actual first belief is that TT will make a rash move and attack into my territory, and the first couple turns of the war will be bashing in spears with road-mobile axes. I'll have a handful of G1 archers to protect my hills and ensure his spears take the unwise courses or any accompanying axes take enough damage to be lower defenders against my cleaning forces.

That being said, here's the plan (yay paint skillz):

First off, my keshiks will be massing on the cows tile below Gryphon until turn 60 and then move on turn 61 to the view-blocked staging tile, yellow dot. My axes mass in Sphinx itself, pink force.

From these places on turn 62 I have the choice of striking directly at Reach with an axe/keshik mixture, using my keshiks to fork Moon River and Reach on the gold tile, or just bypassing Reach entirely and striking out to threaten Moon River so far out that Reach's garrison cannot support the holy city. Which path (or which combination of them) I take will depend on how much TT has in each city and the middle gold tile. I also have the option of going even further east to threaten his capital (Iris) directly.

My galley force will link with at least a scouting sentry keshik, possibly a stack to raid down the coast. If RU Going to Be My Girl is on the coast here, I'll pillage what I can and capture it, ideally. If RU is on the grass hill east of Iris I can also capture it can use it as a canal to land troops on the hill next to Iris itself. Moon River is a cultural monster, if I can take and hold it I will, but if it's at all at risk of recapturing it's getting burned, and to hell with the AI holy city hate.

So yeah. Godzilla smash!

Also, turn report. Annoying barbarians are disrupting my chops at Basilisk, but I'm not bummed about it. I'll have a 7xp keshik completing in Manticore next turn, so I can kill it and get a trick pony (level 3, Heroic Epic unlocked) to play with. Probably something dull like Medic II, but if I wanted amphibious or formation I could take it.

Minotaur, not making a settler nono. Instead it's going to whip out the two axes needed for the galley force I'm assembling. Sadly, 8xp is hard to reach on melee units, so no fun amphibious axe shenanigans yet.

Dropping the slider to break-even still nets me sailing in three turns, so that's going fine. I'm working a lot of mines to push these keshiks out, so while MFG is actually only one of the leader, crop yield is low. I need to get some real gains from TT to make this worthwhile.

Got a sentry keshik covering the eastern threat vectors, he'll be hopping in and out of the mirror line to monitor the area. I'll be able to see if TT claimed the eastern rice spot (Naga's position on the mirror) next turn.

C'mon, c'mon, let's light it up.
