Exactly, it is all about early growth. So, the question is, can your early growth be in taking a rival's capital/expansion city/workers? This seems like a good idea if your capital isn't on copper. Put it this way, nothing is required from a chariot rush right now that you aren't already doing anyway, which is settling the horses ASAP.

Another turn, Rome grew to size 3. That's interesting, because they already finished a work boat and yet they're not building worker/settler.
Yep, scouting warrior definitely heading home!

Run, Forrest, Run!
Okay, not meaning this unkindly, but there is another explanation for their warrior-spam; perhaps it's a reflexive "I'm new to MP and scared" reaction, IE, in Realms Beyond terms,

Well, for every ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) there is an equal and opposite ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) (Newton's third law of doobies)
... we'll see if I'm not TOO aggressive.
Remember: Fear the Noob with nothing to lose!
Edit: I just have to survive to t13 for 3rd ring borders and relative security. But the warrior will never range as much as he has been.

My scouting warrior found corn there next to all those flood plains. That desert hill looks like an absolutely killer 2nd city. Also, Pork Chops tonight! Worker1 completed the pasture (also, needs a name!)
In Demos, scary stuff out there in the fog:
Demo analysis in next post.

Cull hasn't grown yet, meaning he's built nothing but workers/settlers so far. Research is interesting, his first tech SHOULD be fishing, but it took 2 turns too long... next tech earned him 2k soldier points, so I think fishing -> mining.
Catwalk grew to size 4! So far he's built workboat -> warrior while going mostly max food. He's the only one who got Bronze Working... but no revolt yet. He'll likely go worker next, unless all his veteran lurkers are leading him astray. Rival best military is double that of my Ottomen!
Pegasus opened with a workboat, but grew 2 turns slower than catwalk for some reason. He's researched Hunting -> AH. He's probably building worker now, which would make this a strong opening.
Ad-Hoc built a warrior on t4, grew on t6... and hasn't grown since. Likely a worker, but not sure. Ad-hoc researched a powerless tech, I suspect fishing. He's off to an extremely slow start so far.
Things to watch for:
-Cull and Peg are racing to be the first to have pasture and workboat done. max food will go up and over 14 soon when this happens.
-if max hammers go through the roof soon, we'll know that Copper is at catwalk's capital... and hopefully ours. First, catwalk needs a worker!

With the corn revealed, city2 will likely be in position to hit the corn and horses. That strongly suggests the desert hill (which improves an otherwise worthless tile)
Research in fishing is done, beeline to Bronze Working is in the queue. No surprise there, I want the copper, and I want slavery.
I'll work the pigs while finishing the workboat. Sim show me completing the workboat at size 3. This will delay my settler by 3 turns, but increase my overall growth curve. The growth will also provide security, allowing my warrior to get in position for city 2.

Looking very good! When do the borders pop next? Need to see if there's food that allows fp, horses, and the gold. Otherwise, yeah, dry corn is great!

Well, that would be now. I click End Turn to find 3rd ring borders:
The reveal wasn't earth shattering, except for revealing the first viable Eastward location.
