After finding out that it is not a bug and indeed actually something I don't like in the slightest, I am afraid that I have no wish to continue this game any more

You guys will have to look for a replacement, or we can just hand the game to macki as he has Pyramids and has now just Oracle'd into a bigger lead.

EDIT: I should mention I guess that I don't think mackoti is so far ahead that the game isn't worth continuing - certainly agree he's in the lead, but I'm still in pretty solid shape, can't speak for others. But if whatever you found is going to cause us to all feel the same way, then I'd rather know that now then waste another several months playing before realizing it. Are we talking a map issue here? Something else? Can someone spoiled put something in this thread here that gives us an idea without overly spoiling the game for us?

Ah, well, Twinkletoes was extremely proper in only emailing Mack and I as the two he has contact with, but as I've spoken to you, Gaspar...it's barbarian submarines who pillage (and I'd imagine, attack) around in the main inland sea. My own opinion on this would be to ask T-Hawk or someone else who knows what they're doing go all Captain Ahab on those subs, but that'd really have to be a unanimous vote.

As I have yet to even meet Mackoti in game, I'm certainly not feeling like it's concession time for me, but those subs would have to go, for one thing, and I'd say if Gaspar and TT and Mack all voted to hand Maya the win it's a fair diplomatic win. If we killed the subs somehow, would you be up for playing on TT?

Oh... I expected something crazy but I wasn't expecting barb units that are invisible and unkillable for the next 80-100 turns.

I'd be amenable to having the subs deleted. If that's not possible erm, I suppose we could start a new game without them if three of you are all interested? I suppose I'd even be okay with continuing with them on, though I think that's a fairly ridiculous inclusion. But if its between TT and the subs I'd much rather have TT.

This is like if in PBEM6 (also by Bob) Athlete4life decided to quit after seeing a barb city on their island because he had a hunting start and normal maps don't spring barb cities on you like that. Or if the pbem6 players all said, "let's keep playing, but remove the barb cities first." Come on, they're part of the map design!

Wow subs, thats nasty, can someone please delete those things.I was expecting some Barbs(ie as said i think : rifles), but not subs.

ANd about giving up on game please no its excelent and alot of things to do. About conceding to me , i will not accept from what i know gaspar its in avery strong pozition.I hope we will carry one this someone.

Well two things here. Firstly, given that we were split down the middle on even including barbs its a pretty big leap from that to barb subs - not to mention I believe the request was for a tactical inland sea and I fail to see the tactics involved in "stay away from the inland sea for the first 150 turns unless you want to see your ships sunk." So I can understand TT's frustration. I don't want to get into a pissing match with Bob about it or anyone else for that matter but I think its clear from the reaction here that it goes above and beyond our personal expectations for craziness from the game.

But more importantly, I think we've all been having fun with the game and I can see that we're probably looking at watching it die on the vine now - that's the part I'm concerned with. While I don't particularly like the level of creative interpretation involved in including the subs, I'm willing to continue playing with them on if that's what's required to keep the game going. That's really all I'm interested in - whatever keeps the game going. While I agree with the general presumption that mackoti is in pole position if the game continues, I think there's enough interesting things to be decided to be worth playing on, and while I can't speak for anyone else I certainly think I still have a shot at winning. Not to mention that there's been an excellent turn pace and enjoyable diplomacy.
