I think the biggest recent change in meta has been the decline of roaming. Popular picks have changed quite a bit, but that's more about the balancing and new discoveries. The meta is the same, but other characters fit that meta better.

Then again against certain picks some teams try cute stuff. Caitlyn mid against Morgana is a better bet than a standard caster pick. Or those highly sustainable solo bottom lanes to force dragon control (?).

Also, Nyjacky is on Veigar.

I haven't seen Caitlyn go mid vs Morgana in any sort of tournament. I agree it wouldn't be a horrible idea, I just haven't seen it.

NyJacky is REALLY good as Veigar. It's a niche pick. Like Hotshot as Nidalee, Westrice as Akali (before she got really popular), and Doublelift as Blitzcrank. It's not a sign of any sort of meta change.

In general, Morgana kinda crushes AP carries, but against high-ranged ADs like Caitlyn she is going to have a much harder time. I've seen that happen on high level streams.

I don't see any way that Caitlyn will actually kill Morgana, or stop her from farming. Morgana can just sit back and drop her soil on every creep wave. It's stupid risk free. Caitlyn can probably stay back out of range of Morgana, though, so at least she has that going for her.

Was reading the team liquid summary of the SC2 games at IEM, apparently the writer looks down on LoL which is rather amusing. He was laughing at LoL players being proud of 50 APM (I don't even get would you'd use another 100 apm on in Lol...)
