AP Soraka mid and first time jungle Malphite. Fun times.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I've seen some cool stuff with AP soraka, as long as she doesn't get crushed early game starfall is crazy, and the spamable heal is really frustrating to play against as some champs.

So they nerfed Soraka and made here even better? :D

I'll let you know how it goes. Soraka went 0/8 in laning phase against Brand.
Malphite was actually very good.
And I'm seriously losing it. Games like this just make me so mad. I wish I could just play with others who play normal characters and normal comps and just have fun and chill out. I wouldn't even mind losing if it was a normal game. But it's pissing me off that I can very accurately predict the outcome of the match just based on the comps. It's just not fun when you know you're at a huge disadvantage from the beginning and unless you pull of something HUGE you are going to lose no matter how well you personally play. It's a little more fun to watch the enemy squirm, but I'd still prefer normal matches even over those.

You should make and play a LoL drinking game. Make it chemically enforced fun.

Jowy, you should post the team comps and game results of each game you play. It might help all of us see whether you're having crazy luck or just remembering certain games.

So after watching 133 Sullla videos, I finally decided to jump in. What would you recommend for a new player who has a good grasp on the strategies, but not the reflexes to execute them? Aside from the obvious, practice practice practice .
Any champs who don't really need good mousework to succeed (well, to be adequate)? Any roles that lend themselves to noob play?
Should I try a lot of champs, or pick one and try to master him?
Should I start out by playing mainly against bots, or 'normal' games, or ranked? Bear in mind, I only barely won my first game against the bots - I'm sure I've got a long way to go.
And then there's the metaquestion - what's the best strategy for gaining IP, and what should I spend them on? So far, I've bought Ashe, and am now broke. I don't think I'll bother with any skins, at least not until I've got the champs and runes I'm going to need. I'm exceedingly unlikely to spend actual cash - I can tell there's no point in skipping the practice time.

AD carriers or tanky AD champs are probably best for starting out. Something like Garen or Tristana (who's free with that facebook thing). It's much better imo to pick one or two different champs and really master them. If you're playing against bots your not really going to learn much more than just last hitting.
Don't spend IP on runes till you can get tier 3 imo. Anything else just isn't worth the IP unless you're buying the holiday runes. As for champions I'd say wait till you've watched videos of them being played so that you know you'll like them.
Also it's not really worth it to jungle till you're lvl 25-30. Anything below that and generally you'll be crippling your top lane (since it's a 2v1), and you'll jungle extremely slow since you'll have very little masteries or runes.
Edit: Also ranked isn't till lvl 30, and I would wait awhile even then before doing ranked.

I would recommend Ryze. He's 450ip (I think), and the way you build him creates good damage and a strong tank. There is a lot of margin for error with him, as you are learning how to play.
