Mardoc Wrote:So to sum up: Ryze in particular could be a good one to learn on, as could the tanky dps champs (basically anyone you would put in a top lane). And support, if I'm among competent people.
And you don't think I have much to learn from playing against bots, except the real basics of what the skills are, shop looks like, and so on.
In that case - I probably will be asking for partners sooner rather than later, mostly because of this:
But I'll still wait on that until I've got a handle on the interface and can at least describe a few champions I own without having a cheat sheet in front of me. I'll check back in here from time to time, and let you know when I'm ready.
Yep, play against bots to learn the hitbox, autoattack animation, skillshot range, etc. 1 game per champ is fine at lvl 1 if you want to get to the more fun stuff Don't play support in random games. Learn the interface and shop and stuff (1-2 games total) and then start dialing us up Feel free to add NightFall911, my low-level alt account.

I think Jowy needs a real lady to tell him what is what.
Because, no offense, this:
Jowy Wrote:Whoever doesn't believe in ELO hell is a fucking idiot lol. Doesn't qualify at all as complaining. Or "trying hard to fit in". I mean, I thought we were having a jolly time together when you played, but then you left for the EU servers and started writing such unsubstantial posts as above.
Now I know how it feels like to be rejected or at least attention-starved, I'm guilty of that, but then again in 99% of the cases I'd rather blame myself than anybody on my team for the loss. Simply because there are always things you can do better no matter the circumstances.
If you are still reading those posts, I'd say that you just don't have the mentality of someone who truly wants to improve at the game and you'd rather blame other things instead of pointing out your own flaws. And there are a lot of them, I bet - I can't say I'm at Speaker or even Varis' level even though I played a ton of normal games. I just learn much, much slower, and I don't always play with this studious mindset. But the point is, you can carry yourself if you just put your mind to it. And I'm writing all of this because a post with both MLP and White-Ra in it is just a very awesome opportunity:
White-Ra Wrote:When I starting play, I very disappointing and very sad after my lose. If you want to make one goal to win, you must lose. You canât win all games. We are people, we make mistakes. We are not computer and if you understand your mistake when you lose you can just analysis the game and continue to play and try to fix it. Itâs no problem. More GG, more skill.

WhiteRa is pretty awesome, few people can make 15 gateway special tactics, marry a super model, never get pulled over in Ukraine, get flown around the world, and win $30K a year playing video games.

+1.
@Mardoc: bigfatyip is my alt if you want to add. Usually on PhoenixCull though. I really don't care your level of experience. Playing with people who don't rage, people who don't complain endlessly(most of the time!~~) is much more fun then playing with most new players to the game/most of LoL people. Like Speaker and you said, playing with people you make the game enjoyable usually means a more fun time for all. Plus, unless you have a huge win over loss in normals at the beginning, low level+low elo at normals means something resembling the traditional "elo hell". Half the people will afk at a drop of a hat, leavers are about as common as not having an enjoyable team that doesn't rage, etc.
Like Terror said, there's usually a group of us evening GMT/afternoon EST. Plus, the Tuesday games are pretty good, as the level of play is typically lower, but still ok. Like Seyruun said, more gg more skill. ^_^ Losing Tuesday games is probably the best games to lose, as skill level is lower+nobody really thinks much if they lose/win a game due to one person playing bad. Now, I'm assuming you're normal lvl 1, not some chu8 bro.
tl;dr: Just play with us. :3 Nobody is going to be like "noob, wow" and it increases your rate of getting better manyfold.

Can we revisit the idea of a LoL subforum? It seems a bit silly to have just one thread for it when people like to discuss multiple issues. Off the top of my head we could have...
1. Starter guide for new players.
2. Threads discussing builds/runes.
3. A moan and groan about soloqueue thread
Also a fresh list of active players in a thread would be a good idea, not sure when the one on the first page here was last updated.

Good idea. 2500 posts and 100k views shows that there's plenty of interest here. I'll set up a LoL subforum right now.

Forgive me for posting a couple threads. Now that we have a whole forum, I have had a few ideas I've been kicking around for a while, about how to actually use a LoL subforum.
