Astronaut without sin confounds press, invites trio to control civilization

Of course he could read it as 'we are weak and hope to dissuade you in a peacefull manner' wink.

Maybe this will correct that impression:

Unfortunately Sian doesn't have our graphs, so he can't see that we've spiked to 95k power, with rival best being 96k.

Other than that, t59 was fairly simple, yet did reveal new information. Mackoti settled two more cities, for one.

Yeah, there's literally only one way to settle this island.

Still doing OK.

Any thoughts about this?

Assuming you want three cities, yes. (You cannot settle on the oasis, right?) Is that really a given, though?

well this shows him that we could have hurt him but didn't
I wonder where that settler is going

Well, the northern fish can be grabbed from our mainland if we rearrange our entire dotmap around it. That wouldn't be an option for someone grabbing the island from the south, though. Also, there's a second fish on the south coast somewhere, which might not be in range of a city founded on the marble. So settling on the three deserts is the only real option. (And no, you can't settle on the oasis.)

If you're late to the party and just want to ruin your opponent's day, you could settle on the plains forest hill, the wine, or the central tile.

So he declined the offer and landed with a chariot & setter... Interesting. (And foolish.)

Indeed. Here's another fun tidbit:

Quote:me: I'm not advocating C&D at this point, but it would be nice to figure out who got MC
it's a pretty aggressive thing to do before currency, imo
Seven: yeah
makes more sense for mack, due to that
defend island cities + already have TRs
on the other hand it's a stupid move (IMO), so maybe it's someone else
me: lol, yeah
blunt and accurate analysis

I actually missed that third desert in the fog, so I thought the one and only way to cram in three cities was to settle on the wheat. That's why I was a bit puzzled by your insistence on three cities. smile

I guess he read the offer as a sign of weakness (it had too many resources in it). Maybe seeing your chariot+warrior he now regrets the refusal.

About MC: Mackoti has the GL so he doesn't need currency for the traderoutes and going after Triremes is fitting to his aggressive style. Having a Tri in the water is good to deter your neighbours from settling the resource-rich islands.
