Indeed, it is getting tense.

Question: Do we want OB with Mackoti?
I have to run.

Hey, been pretty busy as expected (moved) and also with limited internet this weekend. Looking good.

OB with mackoti might be OK actually. As soon as he has three island cities up, the only benefit for each of us is the other's island cities (and size 11+ cities, potentially), which will be relatively even. We'll have plenty of room for foreign island city routes once we get currency. I guess the biggest risk is a military one. So if we take OB, we'll definitely need to pump out a couple units to map his lands fast, so he doesn't get too much of an advantage over us.

Let's try to get at least enough defenders to hold against a single galley attack in each border city, i.e. axe+spear or axe+WC. If two galleys show up we can probably whip a third defender and be ok.

How soon can we get Currency? 2t?

Yeah, I think so.

What's your opinion on settling order?

1. 5-tile island as soon as we can defend it, for military reasons.

2. Northern island city (it's the best of these).

3. Filler city. (No competition at all.)

Btw which one of Yuri/Sian got that 5-tile island?

Got it.

This was an even more awesome turn than normal. We squeezed out Currency:

And Moai statues:

Due to these developments we offered the following diplo deals:

OB to Mackoti for gems. We both benefit from open borders, but he benefits more. We're not expecting him to accept but we're hoping for a counter offer involving gpt.

Sian just got beaten to two islands (one by us, one by Yuri), so he must be feeling grumpy. Maybe stone will placate him.

Borders expanded on the southern island, giving us better map awareness there. The third spot on that island will be settled on T68 by a settler that completed in Ganymede this turn. Our score soared to 2^9.

Demographics after completing Currency at 90% science are predictably intimidating. It's a good thing we're the clear leader in power as well.

Growing exponentially? smile

Seems like those specialists are really working out for you here in the early game. How much do you plan on cottaging?
If you know what I mean.

Titan will get fully cottaged, and our flood plains. I think unirrigable land is better off workshopped (and at low priority) than cottaged.

162 GNP with no tech selected is kinda scary. I looked what happened if we had queued up Iron Working (which four opponents know) behind it - our GNP goes to 240. lol (Of course about 50 of our GNP is culture - more than our rivals for sure.)

Currency was really good for us. It's minimum +2/city, but I think next turn all our island cities' extra routes will shift to +3 value routes, so the benefit will be 24c/turn.

I just noticed in the screenshot that Cactus Jack's borders, which just expanded too, will be able to see the edge of ours in the fog, including those of both Oberon and Charon.

Yeah. Cactus Jack's borders have been expanded for some time I think, but with our borders expanding, we spotted his borders, and he'll spot ours.
