Ahh just realised Mardoc is on holiday, so I am up, will play at lunch if I get the chance, or this evening
We just want our throne back Wesnoth SG 2

Made sure to kill the guard off while it was still dawn, then during the day I pushed hard ontot he orcs and backed off and played as safe as I could against the Halbard guys.
This is where I got to: In the west, the orc leader is down due to a slow and a couple of charging lance shots, there is a lone orc left that will not survive the turn, after I decided to duel the crossbow with our rider sitting in a village and won comfortably In the east I have backed off and drawn in the Halberds as best I can. You should be able to get a slower in range of them all now and finish them off fairly easily, hopefully with the guys who need xp. Finally here is the save
Looks like two very solid rounds, Ranamar and Jkaen!
Catching the loyalists in the water at night...what was the AI thinking? Certainly nice for us, as those L3 royal guards are nasty during the day time. Fire&Ice up again to mop up the remaining resistance. haphazard1 Wrote:Fire&Ice up again to mop up the remaining resistance. Agreed looks good. I will get tommorrow because today is just not my day. Sian Wrote:going to join for the next campaign ... I do have a few ideas for a single player campaign if you start one. However I was going to set up a multiplayer for the next game. Maybe it will force those admins to give us our own forum :neenernee. Most likely not but its a dream
I want multiplayer too! And oh please do DiD next... or if you want something all over the place Delfador's memories is quite good as well.
anyone that mind/are willing to join up, if i start a new thread where we're going to play DiD on Difficult then?
.. is there anyone that have a list of played games? (beyond this, i notice that NR have been played)
This is only the 2nd SG, hence its just the 2 scenarios that have been played.
I would hold off starting the new one for now, Fire & ice will probably wrap this up in his play through now, and after that we have 2 maps before we are done, and then all the players here can help out with SG3
Turn 10 KILL KILL KILL
Turn 11 move move move Turn 12 WIN WIN WIN the save We must either kill a fixed number of enemy units or kill all the enemy leaders. This is one big map btw.
Nice work wrapping that one up, fire&ice!
Looks like we finished a good bit early as well, so hopefully our treasury will be well-filled for the new map. F&I is correct that this is a BIG map. We face four enemy leaders, each of whom is a grand knight. If we can defeat (kill) any of the four leaders, they will join our battle against the queen in the final scenario. Grand Knights are very powerful attackers with tons of HP, so we would very much like to accomplish this. Unfortunately, the four leaders are quite spread out on the very large map, and generally will not leave their keeps unless we get very close. So we will have to go to them, and are likely to hit the unit kill limit before we can get all four of the leaders. We also need to be careful not to lose our elite units on this map, as we will need them for the final scenario. The enemy will send a lot of units after us, including a lot of very dangerous lancer units. Lancers do a lot of damage and are mobile enough to swarm any vulnerable units. Be careful about leaving any units exposed to multiple attacks. I should be able to get us started tonight. I plan to recruit a strikeforce with good ranged offense (mages, some elves) for anti-horse duty, with healers and some covering horse units of our own. Send it after the closest enemy leader, then build another strikeforce for the next leader. Hopefully each strike force can take out one grand knight and then move after a second. Whether we can get to them before hitting the unit kill limit we will have to see. It will be a couple hours before I can play, so all suggestions are welcome! I had trouble with this map when I played this campaign solo, so I am not sure if my approach is the best choice. We could just fort up for best defense and let enemies come to us, but we would reach the kill limit without getting any of the grand knights. If we want their help in the final battle, we have to go on offense. Edit: I suppose we could try to send out assassination squads of fast movers, gryphon riders or paladins. Not sure how successful they would be with the enemy having a lot of fast-moving horse units of their own. But it might be one way to kill more grand knights before we hit the unit kill limit. |
