His effect particles and noises are amazing though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2HSewYad...r_embedded
And I thought it was common knowledge that the 'surprise' was going to be Surprise Party Fiddlesticks. They had a not-very-subtle birthday card to that effect a week or so ago.

I think that skin is pretty amazing.

Oh, I am not doubting that the skin is great - I just expected something like a free IP boost, or a 24 hour discount for skins, or something else a little more suprising that was free.
In WoW, on the 4th anniversary everybody who logged in that week got a free pet which I think is a nice idea and keeps players excited.
I am not a cheapskate, I bought almost all my champions with RP along with quite a few skins, I just think the whole surprise announcement is lame. I don't play Fiddle, so I couldn't care less about the whole anniversary thing now.

I also think that Riot is far too stingy with the skins. They have what, 400 of them now? 500? They should be having promotional giveaways for skins all the time, to help keep up interest amongst the playerbase.
Take Twisted Treeline, for example. No one seems to play this mode. What if Riot did a promotion for the month of November: play 10 games (or 20, or whatever) on TT and receive a free promotional skin of some kind. Then something different the next month in December, and so on. The cost to their bottom line would be microscopic, because they seem to crank out at least a dozen skins every month. Meanwhile, they would retain a much larger number of active players, and in any Free to Play game, the size of the userbase is how you continue to bring in revenue. More people playing the game means more people spending RP on skins, champions, IP boosts, rune pages, etc.
Long story short, they should be holding giveaways like the end of Season One prizes all the time. I can almost guarantee they would make more money in the long run that way. Give players targets and goals to shoot for, with some minor rewards in the process, and they're far less likely to get bored and stop playing.

They don't even need to give away new skins, just give away ancient ones that were released when the game started (though I guess that might cause issues...) or just give 100 RP, people would do anything to get 100 RP, even though such a small amount wouldn't do anything.

New patch notes are out!
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/show...?t=1432099
Decent Graves nerfs, good Olaf change, good Talon nerf, random Caitlyn nerf, and I wonder if Wukong will ever be played.
New champ seems interesting enough, and I'm hoping she's as fun as Graves and Riven. My biggest question, since there's no champ spotlight at the time of writing this, is how her dragon form will work. Will it be something like Swain's toggle ult, but on a longer CD or a long temporary buff like Riven? Either way seems fine to me.
New skins included in the patch:
(MF, CHO, and Shyvana skins are included in store with patch, others will come at another date.)

So, another MF and Shaco skin. Cho's looks cool, and Megaman Ezreal FTW.

The Amumu attack range change is awesome if it means he can kill mushrooms with an oracle without popping them.

Question of the day:
Is FiddleSticks Male or Female?

A female fiddlesticks just seems a bit odd to me... just listen to him say indeed in Sir Bruce's youtube link.
