Turn 52

Slight change of plan. Not going for another settler just yet but a worker. I will also be changing to Exploration next turn. No time lost as I was in anarchy swapping to God King this turn.

We are being approached by quite a few goblins in the east.... further making me think that was were Sareln was.

Turn 53

Played before work this morning - chance of 2t today! jive

One goblin advanced onto a floodplain and so I took a ~80% shot at him with a green warrior and won. There had been another goblin further to the south I was waiting to get odds on but he has wandered off in search of truffles in the fog.

The barb activity is definitely starting to increase. I like the distribution of deserts on my borders as they mean that I can generally wait for the barbs to wander over and then get decent odds.

In other news, we are out of anarchy, exploration is due in 2t after ending turn along with another worker.

I think I am going to put city 3 here:

It will need a monument 1st to get some of its better tiles in range, but overall I think it will be a decent site for the following reasons:

- Pig, copper and marble. Well - pig and copper are very good tiles to work.
- Defensive position on a hill and desert tiles on all 4 directions facing out towards the barbs. No doubt this city will attract a few barb attackers so I will be able to station a garrison and attack out at decent odds.
- Fresh water from the oasis
- Can work the gold if Epsom is doing something else.
- 6 river tiles

thats about it. The other sites I have marked all seem more filler than this one to me and they don't grab any strategic resources.

Amelanchier was in the bath stroking his horse when it occured to him, why not move the stables?

Something else that occured to him:

Did you get my message in game re copper? It is located 1E of the Pyre although I'm not sure it will make much difference to you unless you already know it is there as I saw that Serdoa has completed the white hand already. In honesty this is going to be tight for us to defend ourselves against him once he is done with you (no disrespect meant) so unfortunately the Hippus aren't going to be able to help you out. Even popping 2 quite useful techs from huts wasn't enough to allow us to get to horsemen in time.

Also - I wondered if you have caught a glimpse of that stinky orc Orthus?

Cheers,
SL

Edit:

His response:

Mist Wrote:Hi,

I'm not sure re the message, Ellimist plays the turns since forwarding
doesn't like my email anymore and I stopped getting them like a month
ago. Anyhow, copper doesn't save us, there's no way we could tech BW
in time. Also, a shame you can't make it, it was a long shot, but
worth trying nevertheless wink No Orthus yet either.

Mortheus has been captured.

Agents Smith are trying to force him to relinquish the axe. It may require a few turns.

lol Shame he isn't likely to be around for too long - I love the Matrix theme! What is the betting every unit is called Agent Smith? lol Hopefully the axe will help him defend against Serdoa. I'll be interested to see in his thread afterwards how he uses his world spell. I would be very very tempted to cast it once the axe is captured and send a highly promoted warrior with the axe to hunt for the priests. He may get lucky and find one injured from a fight with the barbs and get a kill...

Gonna suggest this to him actually as it helps me a bunch!

For all those that are interested....

New micro plan! Yay jive

I realise that these are quite boring to read in a thread and that pictures are much more interesting so I have attached some pics of the worker micro too! lol

Here is the new spreadsheet

I have been picking novice's brain on lots of things recently so if there are any errors they can be traced to him most likely! wink novice get in here and take a bow. You will get a warrior named after you.

I was having trouble visualising the worker actions and so here are overview pictures of each workers actions.

Worker 1:

Worker 2:

So comments please!

This kind of bribery reeks of desperation. I hope nobody succumbs to your transparent ploy.

Oh, wait...

So, let me see, there are ten (yes ten! count them) little Brian Shanahans waiting to run around and cause havoc.

Yeah far better to wait till the priests are no longer a danger.
