What's up with angry mermaid? Is it a sign that Moai is nearly done?
It's a sign I need to hit them more. Whip incoming...only next turn, painfully, I'll need to revolt to OR/HR (looking at maybe vassalage, but probably not going to be able to swing it). On the plus side, I'm about to be up gems, incense, and a MP in Mermaid...then it's one more whip -> overflow into Moai.

Well, not a lot happened this turn due to anarchy, but now I'm in Organized Religion and Hereditary Rule, which is nice. There are three more cities to settle on the frontier and then it's going to be vertical or bust. Stupid Great Wall builders, but at least the failed contractors payed up.
Oh, also, the much mocked "too early" city of Hippocamp: Not a waste of space any more, eh?
Poor thing, so very maligned...

Fairly uneventful turn this time around. Turned research back on, which is always a bit sobering when someone else is researching too. I have enough to get any one tech at 100% next turn, I'm debating between CoL, Feudalism, or Machinery.
Gaspar's annoying me with his settles, but I can't really blame him too much. The iron island won't be working gems, they're mine, but the silver will be his.
My own newest city is a classical filler, but still in a nice spot. It'll grow to size nine with two oasis-irrigated farms, and then stagnate as a production center working ivory, grass windmill, and four plains mines.
The Mayan open borders is a shot in the arm, no doubt, but even so I'm down on trade routes. The new city gets nothing for foreign trade. My next few settlements will be inland anyway, so it's okay.
My empire as a whole has reached its high-water mark in land coverage, until I eat TT or something else changes. Man this is a huge map.
My TT border, so quiet for so long, still has some low-level tensions over control of some tiles but I'm winning back what I lose tanks to the GW and soon Hinduism help. Useless desert east is useless.
My core is still growing, in need of bureaucracy at the capital and a few more improvements, but it's largely done. I could squeeze in a couple more filler cities but while my economy is so sluggish I'm not going to bother.
Moving on the wild frontier, it's rapidly getting civilized out west too. The next three or four cities here will cram out the last spots, and then it's the fun and joy of Culture Wars.
Finally, the islands and Mackotiland. Mack's getting East Mackotistan there next turn, but the gems are useful and hey, who needs silver right?
Today's general idea: Could be worse, I could be TT.

Are you and Gaspar splitting the flood plains wonderland between you? Or is he the only one settling them.

Because my NAP with Mackoti is that I will settle nothing on his side, and the line itself is kind of a gray area.

Yep, we're splitting them, although he get the centerline row, just as I get the centerline row in the northern riverland.

Buuutttt, does it not mean that the western fish is wasted? Surely an exception could have been made.

Alas, Mr. Spaceman, we live in an imperfect world. It's even more impertfect now, what with Gaspar's iron island "screw you". One single jucier trade route does not compensate, nossir.
At least I can finally force religion in the culturally embattled sites. Missionaries are finally being spawned, the most important of which is this fella heading down to Sphinx.
Thanks to the stupid limit on missionaries, I'll have to wait one more turn to abuse the lovely 26 hammer cost by whipping them for max overflow in Mermaid. Need two of 'em and the Moai Stones are finally done.
I need Civil Service in the worst way. I'm not the only one who has a super-huge capital of awesomeness, but I'd be surprised if mine didn't have the most mature cottages. Bureau revolt will hurt, but I'm losing 25cpt at least every turn I delay.
On the plus side, hey, now I can have an academy. That makes it even more imperitive that I revolt, sadly. Too much anarchy!
Yep, I saw the SoZ drop there. For a mad second I thought TT had built it in Reach, which would have been a culture-war death knell. But it looks like it was Gaspar. I hope it's to annoy Mack, although I'm sure he's a couple turns to broadcast towers to push back.
Finally, with CoL down I'm preparing to push a Forbidden Palace here in Wolpertinger soon. This is a lovely little sub-capital site. Five more pop points and this place will start to really spring up.
Yes, I just spotted the lost hammer above. Ah well, I'm playing fast.

Well, I'm chaining irrigation and waiting to be able to revolt to Bureaucracy. Plus, I get monks' chants now, so that's cool.
I made my first non-coastal city in ages, check it out. It's the definition of a filler location, but a good spot for all that. I think I'll farm the nearest flood plain and cottage the rest, along with the oasis that's plenty of food.
Two more cities to go in centralia, painfully on the flood plains I think if I want to work the marble. We'll see if Gaspar pops borders on me there.
My demos this gold-saving turn are pretty much par for the course. I'm behind and not falling further, but not really catching up either here.
Well timed GAs might help out in up-catching, which means I need to get the National Epic up in Naga sooner rather than later. I'm farming everything, I think, I have the health and happy for it.
Finally, this turn was the turn for religion-spreading. My shrine is pulling 15gpt before EoT here with the market, this is definitely my Wall Street spot.
Hinduism is pretty well spread, second only to Gaspar's Judaism in the world. Might need to up the GP price, that's a nice shrine potentially.
Got a free spread after ending turn, too. It's more and more a Hindu nation, our fair horde. Now with monasteries!
Still havin' fun.

Not a whole heckuva lot going on here in beautiful lush Mongolia. Harpy the second is my current building project, soon to be 100% infra'd. I want to save the 60 hammers of forest for something, but nothing much springs to mind right now.
Mermaid whipped its missionary, overflow into awesomeness...
And finally, Satyr's immediate borders are safer now, including no Mackoti settling of the iron island. Whew.
Might very well mean annoyance and war in seventeen turn, but that's okay.
