Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

[spoilers] Gaspar and Commodore welcome you to the islands, mon!

By the by, if that sounded unreasonably annoyed it is because it was. But just with diplomacy in general. I think I'm ready to join the chorus that thinks these games would just in general be better without diplo.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I'm very confused. Either...we give Sian an NAP, and he builds a lot of military after building us a settler...or with don't give Sian an NAP and he builds a lot of military without settler first? That's what he's offering us?

Seems to me that we should continue full speed ahead, but maybe at the last moment offer an NAP so that he has an army and nothing to do with it except attacking Rego. In which case we about face and attack Yuris. But I can't see any reason to let Sian know that, him expecting attack is our perfect cover if we want to attack someone else. And maybe the fact that he's so insistent on an NAP from us is, in fact, because he can't stop us.

But at this point, I don't see us being able to catch up peacefully, we've got to take something from someone.

For what it's worth, Sian's position in PBEM23 is likely affecting his stance here.

The short version in spoilers...
Sian left a city undefended there and saw it captured by Yuri. They didn't have an NAP.

(Still owe you a report, posting from my tablet so no turn report yet, wife has been strangely clingy tonight.)

I suspect that Ceil is correct, plus the relative position of the leaders in that game and a legitimate fear that the leader will do the same here.

Rego is not as good as the leaders in that game though, so I'm not concerned. If we were playing them, I'd be encouraging any and all dogpiles. wink

Anyway, I'll let Commodore decide. He's the one who has to justify it in diplo. Have I mentioned I hate diplo? Odd, because I like chatting with RB'ers. lol

Is she building a settler? ;-)

Huh. Well, if it means he'll be more paranoid and actually serious about taking on Rego...we've got two reasonable choices. Take his deal (or push for slightly better), and figure out another way to catch up while he smashes into Rego (maybe yuris' lands?). Or...dial up Rego and ask how he feels about dividing up Sian devil.

I'm not that sure we ought to poke a hornet's nest, though, if Sian really is going to be careful about military.
