So you learned the hard way that Lanun are fishy smelling evil scum with an overpowered worldspell.

Anyone want to vote to nerf the Lanun?

Ravus's Armageddon plan is going to get messed up quite a bit if Sareln remembers to use Seven Pines.

Lol, is that going to blight the world twice?

I think the Armageddon events are coded so that they can each occur only once. Otherwise Ravus could delete/produce marked units and cause blight every other turn.

If Sareln does activate Seven Pines and cuts the AC in half, Ravus could potentially drop it to zero if he deleted all his marked units. He'll have to build more without deleting any that he already has, so unit maintenance could become irritating.

Even if Sareln doesn't think of it, another player might suggest it to him. The timing could be interesting though, I suspect Ravus himself could talk him into using it very very soon if he wants to minimize the overall impact. Waiting any significant amount of time will allow the Armageddon units to start being summoned, so it wouldn't be an easy decision.

I really don't understand why Amelia would take sides with the Vamps at this point in the game.

Anger about blight, perhaps? If I remember correctly, Mackoti hasn't done anything aggressive against Amelia. Why wouldn't Amelia be willing to join forces against the guy who's trying to destroy the world? Amelia has already seen the Horsemen in action in FFHII.

I had the same reaction, Ilios. DaveV might have a point - or maybe Amelia's just looking for a way to remain at peace with the world for another 20-30 turns, long enough to turn 'my first mage' into 'lots and lots of mages'. Maybe that's even long enough to make it to Govannon.

If Ravus is right about this coalition's chances - or for that matter if things remain in this cold war state long enough - then the war ought to be in mackoti's and Sareln's lands, while the Wizards just continue to develop their magics. If Amelia makes it to a large stock of Wizards + Govannon + unused Worldspell - that might be enough to make him a contender despite his economic weakness.
