looking forward to an update when you get a chance. Did the turn pace drop, or is it status quo so not much to report?

Any chance for a TT war soon?

The turn pace has been slow this last little bit lately, but mostly it's no status quo changes. Still making universities and doing filler things:

TT only just entered the medieval era, so I could either kill him with a little effort with knights right now, or I could keep doing my buildery things up until Military Tradition and kill him far more easily with Curs/Cavs. I'm going for option 2.

Just played another, and mayhaps I can show you why this game is in forgone conclusion mode, like PBEM 4 or 23, but still gives us morons hope at times. First of all, turned on tech now with Oxford still quite a ways out. The GNP spike is impressive.

This would be encouraging, but alas danger sign #2 is that huge MFG Mackoti has. Still cottages are finally outstripping specialists, right? Well, yes, but Mr. Philosophical got Oxford quite a while ago, check out the numbers I need to make up:

Hah. The game is being pretty sarcastic, too, what with me "popping another one" at the point where that finally doesn't matter all that much. The GS will be making a golden age, fyi.

Even the silver linings have dark clouds attending them. Check it, losing the extra hammer was just enough to slow down the filler settler. rolleye

Ah well, it's been another learning experience, and it's going to be really fun to watch the GA next turn.

Isn't Mackoti in a golden age? That would explain (some of) his huge MFG

Alas, he's just popped out of the GA. State Property workshops and watermills everywhere, it makes me second-guess ever going cottage economy again.

Ah well. In my own turn report, click, click, BOOM

In true short-sighted PBEM 24 fashion (non-Mackoti division) I'm using the GA to make another GA. Capital Manticore is making a prophet, most likely...

While Naga is going for "something else". If I do snag a GE instead I might wait a bit, nice to rush one of the big industrial-era wonders when you can.

Also, Mermaid, because she's frankly ridiculous right now.

Onward to democracy and universal suffrage!

Yeah, but Mack's specialist economy only works with pyramids... it wouldnt have gone well for you without 'mids or PHI.

Mermaid is truly impressive, she's all grown up!

how does the diamond city look these days?

Satyr II, the Island of Gems, is a decided contributor to the horde, and with a courthouse and nearby Forbidden Place, not even that much of an expense. It's more or less maxed out in potential now, and those gems, nice as they look, really will be slightly worse than the US/FS towns the core is about to revel in.

Over all things are looking great until you recall that I'm in a GA and Gaspar and Mackoti aren't. If this game were going to last until Future Tech 20, I might win this...as it is, even if Mackoti wants to peacefully launch a ship he's better off than I am.

Divine Right came in, with Islam falling in the second-core city of Jackalope. Not a big deal, but it will enable me to cram another monastery into Gryphon and Manticore, where the ROI is only five turns. Boy, emancipated Jackalope will be nice in a few turns won't it?

Manticore's pool made a prophet, thankfully, so unless disaster strikes on a less than 5% chance in Naga I'll be able to fire a second GA at will. I can stop running crappy artists there now, which is also nice...I was running them on the off chance of a GS or GM popping from Manticore.

Also, something almost entirely meaningless, but Sphinx has at long last retaken the southern mine. Victory is ours!

I'll give it this much, this game is a personal best.

Huzzah! all those cities look really good... and I realize too that as Mack's specialist economy starts to falter in the late game, your cottage spam will just be hitting high gear.

the second golden age will sure help too. Look out 2nd place, here you come! ;-)

Hah! alright Yeah, I thought about saving up a bit, but the best way is still going to be full-bore to Democracy, the benefit of being able to swap into Emancipation/US without anarchy is bigger than being able to maximize the couple hundred beakers. Honestly, I wasn't kidding about FS soon, my empire is rolling in villages, soon to be towns...the awesome capital of awesomeness isn't at all like in 19, where it easily contributed 1/3 of my total economic output.

I will be saving gold next turn, for the last two GA turns of research at 100% with Oxford done. It was worth it to get the Spiral going with the GA-boost in Mermaid, it's a 3-turn build there. yikes
