[Spoilers] Commodore as Washington of the Mongols

Man, this ought to be a thrilling game, but sadly it's just trucking along thanks to Mack's infinite win. I did manage to finish a couple nice boosters. Oxford, for example, has a noticeable impact on my GNP. yikes

Plus, my priests are now working really hard wherever they are employed. This is getting a mite bit silly...and I officially dread Scientific Method.

Oh, and I also made what has to be the ultimate filler city. Made it Hindu day one, though, which is quite nice. Yetis are kinda hybrid monsters, right?

Hooray for fun Sim City!

So in today's news, TT is one crazy little dude.

Certainly, the LKs have begun to roll out, so it the HRE's happy-time...except Mack has a ton of muskets at this point. I almost suspect some sort of collusion to keep us from being suspicious.

Yeah, this is fishy.

Meh, if I have to make muskets it's no great problem. Dunno man. Ah well, I have cash-rushing anyway next turn. And hey, more cash:

Gaspar and I have the least tense border in the game, although unfortunately Faun is stealing stuff. Ah well, it'll be fine, I suppose.

If this is trickiness, it's the most wasted ever. We're just mellowly chilling here, man, builder-simmin'.

Well, from where i stand, he's more sensible than gaspar... who's been waiting to die since t50 it seems.

Any chance you can provide assistance to TT?

Heheh. No. I'll be hard-pressed to make my own defenses intact in time for the Mackotian hordes. Got Gunpowder this turn, as I'll be at least fielding rifles soon. Can cash rush, at least, which is nice.

And yes, that is Mackoti getting Biology, but he's right next to cannons and other nasties soon too. I'm going Construction -> Engineering -> Mil Trad, then the rifle line.

My GNP, at least, is still good, no tech selected here post-GA. Pity Mack's got this lead...if he'd just pause for a dozen turns we'd be pretty even. alright

As it is...nope, even his isolated peakland is well defended with muskets. Maybe if I went theocracy and made amphibious cavalry...rolleye

As the only one of the advanced powers not running a Representation hybrid economy, I think I have dibs on Democracy at the moment. It also, however, means that the SoL isn't as valuable to me. Hrm.

Emancipation is going to be a big help, most of my core has at least villages, which means they'll be awesome US town very very soon. Also, see Mr. Gryphon's awesome gold even while researching. Yeah man.

Rollin' along, at least Mack is in a fun place.

how badly is TT getting hammered?

Only mildly like a stubborn nail. Been a couple turns since he lost anything, but his lands are going to flake off fast once Mackoti slogs through the choke points. At least he's buying me lots of time.

Which I'm using to fill up Sphinx, for one, lovely little anti-musket/knight/mace stack here, eh? It won't matter against Mack's modern stuff but at least it's not getting pushed over by his older front-line.

I don't see too much modern stuff in any case, Mack doesn't need too much to push TT around. Like most Hindu cities, I can see into this one...not that much stuff, eh? Slightly, and I mean barely, tempted to go Theocracy to get a bunch of amphibious cavs here. Not worth it though.

Research is still top of the world, trying to get a bunch of remaining techs for security. The Astro line I'm waiting on until I need to save gold again, it's a Krillian 1-turn fest over here.

So, beyond that, it's mobilize for security. I've pumped muskets the last few turns in the stagnating former whipping spots (Universal Suffrage, in this example, will give me boosted towns in ~6 turns due to Emancipation maturation rates).

It's going to be a long haul to get to Gaspar's lands, but Sir Richard Whittington here will be funding me during the next golden age. See also, cities winding up for military goodies.

All those cuirassiers will be upgraded in-queue to cavs next turn, it's a little late, but the last era that Mongolia excels at is finally here. Oh boy oh boy, this is going to be a lot of Flanking II and C1/Pinch fun at TT's expense. Totally another scrap-hunting war, I know.

That's the plan, Stan. I'll be better about reporting once things actually kick off, I'm sorry to all the lurkers for how I've been slacking.

If TT's entire military is trying to stave off the Mack attack, how much is defending his core?

Eh, not a ton, but enough that I want an at least decent-sized stack. Also, DURP de DURP. I forgot the auto-renewing bit of our agreement. bang

So, sent this RIGHT NOW.

Quote:[COLOR="Sienna"]Hey TT,

Well, it's been a fun little builder-fest of a game, but it seems like Mack is now on his roaring rampage of victory. There's nothing personal at all about this, but I'm activating our NAP cooldown so that my hands are free to fight him in better terrain than my core lands. So as of turn 137, we can freely fight if needed, although I'd like to note that I forgot about the auto-renewing addendum until just now, which should prove that it was not my plan to strike you. :P

May Washington win all games he's in,

Sigh...duh obviously, have not been paying attention here. smokesmokesmoke

That was a nice touch. :-D

Well, TT is going to try and stop us both, which might be a bit hard. In the interests of showing me the juiciness of Mackoti instead, he traded maps with me. I think I figured out why Mackoti's snowball was better. Ow Gaspar.

I meanwhile, am still growing. Mermaid has one more turn of infra to build (just finished a harbor), and then it's time for galleon and frigate pumping. I have a freaking Cathedral there and its still near the happy cap. rolleye

We're all teching right now. This is why I'm fairly sure I can't afford to let TT try and hold Mack off, these numbers aren't good for #4. West Point needs to be an objective of this war in any case...one note, GNP is production for me, I'm actually in a rushbuy mode now.

More money is coming shortly, to make up for the horrid drop once Scientific Method comes online. I need to do it anyway, airships are going to be huge if I'm going to have any military success.

On we go, off to the doomed war!
