Warrior Hero builds

Eventually, we could probably make a thread for each class since we've got the space for it now. In the meantime though, I just felt like putting up the builds I use for Koss and Goren almost all the time. The one I use (i.e. Hammer, Axe, Sword) depends on what weapons I have them equipped with (aka whatever was lying around and was max damage) at the time.

Sword:
Str: 3; Swords: 12; Tactics: 12
Barbarous Slice, Gash, Sun and Moon Slash, Galrath Slash/Pure Strike, "Watch Yourself!", "Shields Up!", "Charge!", Res Sig

Axe:
Str: 3; Axe: 12; Tactics: 12
Dismember, Executioner's Strike, Critical Chop, random, "Watch Yourself!", "Shields Up!", "Charge!", Res Sig

Hammer:
Str: 3; Hammer: 12; Tactics: 12
Hammer Bash, Crushing Blow, Irresistible Blow, Counter Blow, "Watch Yourself!", "Shields Up!", "Charge!", Res Sig

Obviously, they're all basically the same thing. Every now and then I'll take "Watch Yourself!" off one of them and give them another attack skill. The reason for 12 in tactics is so that "Charge!" will last 10 seconds meaning it stays up all the time. The reason for "Charge!" instead of an elite attack is because when you're walking around in PvE, you're usually doing just that: a lot of walking. Using "Charge!" helps reduce the time you're out there wandering. "Shields Up!" is great on 2 warriors because you can have it up all the time, meaning you've got great defense against archers, which really helps in the later stages of Nightfall when you're going up against Barrage users almost constantly. During missions/quests where the idea is to defend, or if you don't need to be mobile a lot (i.e. short treks between fights), then I probably will exchange "Charge!" for an elite attack and lower tactics a bit since getting that breakpoint is really the only reason to run it that high.

My builds are almost the same. Even tho i barely use sword and hammer on my heroes.

The only skill i always have equiped on them is "For Great Justice!". The more adrenaline they get the more damage then can put out.

I use:

Axe: 12+2
Strength: 12+2

Skills: Signet of Strength, "For Great Justice", Cyclone Axe , Battle Rage {E}, Dismember , Axe Rake, Executioners Strike , Rez

Same principle as Sir D with the Adrenaline, and Battle Rage is the only warrior elite I have...the game really takes on a whole different facet when you have not unlocked most of the skills. lol

A really stupid build I like for pure damage:

Tigers Fury/ Enraged Smash / 4 adrenal attack skills

12 Hammer, 9 Beast, rest strength.

I usually pick counter / staggering / fierce / heavy and disable them. Theoretically I can manually use these during boss battles for knockdowns, but in practice I can't be bothered. tongue You could probably replace with 5 adren axe attack skills to get recharge up that little bit faster.

That leaves res and an extra skill slot. You could pick enraging charge to get your adren up faster, or crushing blow if you have Devona's counter blow along (I often do) You might also fit a pet in with the beast mastery spec for some extra dps.

Mine are all either sword or axe (depending on what I had lying around), since I don't have enough experience w/ hammers to put together a build I trust. I usually give them cleave or quivering blade, since I want them to put out damage pretty fast and don't trust them to handle something along the lines of dragon slash correctly. Distracting blow is also one I almost always use, and sometimes succor or plague touch.

I have hammers, but like ajax I'm noobish with them, so I go with axe or sword.

Sword:
1. Counter Attack (strength, 5e)
2. Pure Strike (sword, 5e)
3. Quivering Blade (E sword, 4a)
4. Barbarous Slice (sword, 6a)
5. "Watch Yourself!" (tactics, 4a)
6. Util
7. Util
8. Hard Res (monk, rit, para) or Res Sig

Axe (very similar to swords):
1. Counter Attack (strength, 5e)
2. Furious Axe (axe, 5e)
3. Whirling Axe (E axe, 2a)
4. Penetrating Chop/Blow (axe, 5a)
5. "Watch Yourself!" (tactics, 4a)
6. Util
7. Util
8. Hard Res (monk, rit, para) or Res Sig

Utility slots are for whatever. Self heal, shields up, extra attack or whatever suits the situation you'll be going into. If you want Goren or Koss to spam an attack a little more often but us up more energy, give him Power attack which only has a recharge of 3 sec and pretty decent damage.

My usual attribute distribution is:
Axe or Sword - 16
Tact/Str - 10/10 or 11/9 or 9/11
It can change depending on what skills I bring and the req of the shield the hero is equipped with.

A build I've been using on my war is the following, but I don't know how a hero would use it.

Axe Build, but could probably do swords too:
1. Counter Attack (strength, 5e)
2. Power Attack (strength, 5e)
3. Furious Axe (axe, 5e)
4. Warrior's Endurance (E strength, 5e)
5. Wild Blow (none, 5e)
6. "Watch Yourself!" (tactics, 4a)
7. Lions Comfort (strength, 4a)
8. Res

Wild blow I take only to break stances of enemies that block, otherwise I rarely use it and Lions Comfort is a backup heal. Both are more like util skills.

Attributes:
Axe 14
Str 12
Tac 11

One of the big problems I've noticed about the AI is that it's very shy about using KDs with negative effects to them. Koss and Goren won't use Shove if you have non-attack skills on their bars, nor will they use Hammer Bash or other adrenaline killing kds if you have other adrenal attacks equipped. Oddly enough, they use Wild Blow as soon as a stance pops up, regardless of their adrenaline level. They're better than they were before (they now wait until something is on the ground before using Crushing Blow) but the AI's still not as reliable as it is with a sword or axe.
